I agree. I was 286 lbs right when i quit drinking and bodyweight exercises were a trip to the gym. However, i am 5 foot 7 or 8 and that weight is too hard on the heart plus i need to be fast for my preferred 2nd hobby (martial arts). Maybe i'll go amatuer strongman next year at 30 and get myself back up to around 260-280 but dude being light feels so great. You can easily see your muscles working, have visible abs, can train power and have a bruce lee physique naturally (close to it most likely not fully)

I ordered a cheap vest off eBay for $25 then went to a welding shop with the foam inserts they came with and had them cut two 10 guage sheets of steel to fit. Got a vest for $60 for half the work and it's much slimmer then putting barbell weights in. Note: tape the foam to the sheet metal and it's much more comfortable.

I have 10 lb plates, but I use them and cannot wrap them up and put them in a vest. I would need to buy additional plates. At $1 per pound (optimistic) that would add to the cost. Titan has a 40 lb vest for around $85. That looks like a better deal than $48 for a vest and $40 for the plates. Plus it is easier to adjust the weight and I dont have to spend a bunch of precious free time messing around building the thing.

Great video! I love almost everything rogue has to offer but the 5.11 plate carrier drives me crazy. Nice work giving people an affordable option. For anyone that wants to spend just a little more money you can get ~9lb real ballistic plates from ar500 armor. Hell, for the prices Rogue charges for the so so 5.11 vest, you can get a Crye JPC, which is about the best in the business.

Even cheaper if you look into chest rigs. They are basically a plate carrier without the section for the plate. Its just the shoulder straps with the front pockets for mags/tools. I can think at least 3 or 4 reason why this is bad idea, the inside of the ties will damage the fabric, the cardboard will get soaked and disintegrate, this does not stop the plate from moving down, if you stand on your hands the weight will go down (up) and squash the cardboard... this is just impractical, hell, two 10 pound plates are still viable ._.
