Oh wow, I just sort of stumbled on this video while late night googling window shelve diys but stayed for all the great lil practical tips. I'll either never need them in my life or they will someday by surprise absolutely save my life (Honestly, probably the latter since I'm in amateur theatre)

I suppose it depends on how much you fill them up with plants. I had plenty of light but I also had help from large windows in adjacent rooms (which is also why I felt comfortable with darker paint in here). For fun I put a small disco ball on mine which sent little bits of light all over the room too. It’s up to you whether your space is a good fit!
