Maximize your windowsill space and make the most of your home's natural light! If your windowsills are too small to hold plants or sprouting seeds, build this windowsill plant holder extension without drilling into your walls.

You can use a stapler to staple the velcro to the board...and probably the sill as well. That sticky backing doesn't come off well. If you are in an apartment the staple holes are easier to fill than trying to remove sticky velcro when you move.

@brendagriffin6437 That’s a good idea. I have been curious how well the sticky backing will come off the window sill. I’m hoping GooGone does the trick. Or Naphtha.

This is amazing! Did you decide to sell these? I have very similar windows but live in an apartment with no access to power tools 😢

Unfortunately I do not sell them, but I’m glad you enjoyed the idea! I thought they were super convenient.

What brand(s) do you recommend for power tools? I'm starting to look into which ones to buy. Thanks, and keep up the great work!

Thanks for watching! Drill: Cordless Dewalt (got the 2-drill combo from Home Depot) Saw: Craftsman 10” table saw I believe. Nothing fancy-$150 at a yard sale. Jigsaw: Just bought a Makita corded that I love. Great feel and easy to handle. Miter saw: Mine’s a Ridgid. I like the angle adjustments; it’s sturdy and doesn’t feel cheap. Brad nailer: Dewalt. I blew out my porter and cable one because I had it overpressured at 125psi. Only rated for 120Max. Air compressor: Porter and cable. Bought at a pawn shop and it’s run great the last 2 years. Overall I still with name brands like Makita, Dewalt, Bosch. Ridgid and Craftsman are also good options but newer Craftsman stuff seems to be more cheaply made.. not impressed (my table saw has a lot of plastic parts). As with most things, you get what you pay for! Hope this helps.

Can you install shelf brackets to the ledge only&they'll just rest against the wall?
@giyguyyy
@giyguyyy Ай бұрын
Yep, that would probably work as long as you the wooden ledge is fastened to the window sill in some way (Velcro, small nails, etc). For deeper sills, I was able to have the ledge stay in place without any fasteners anywhere, but there had to be items resting on the ledge to hold it in place. If I removed the items, the shelf would fall off the sill. Hope this helps!
