I have made this type of chain for years. This is the first time I have seen a video on it. I do it a little different. I start with coiling wire on a marker or a 1/4 inch dowel. Cut them apart and open up the jump ring, put loops on each end going towards the center of the ring, push together. My links are smaller and more compact. I love your design.

@@samanthalatimer1 Yes & I definitely need to get those bail 6 in 1 pliers, could you recommend a quality brand please , or is it a case of you get what you pay for kinda thing? On eBay I’ve seen a pair for £22 and i don’t know what the large wrap & tap ones are for ,I’m assuming to make jump rings or bigger loops? My two pairs of roundnose ones I’ve had from 30 years 😁
@samanthalatimer18 ай бұрын
@@kraftykym8627 the wrap and tap pliers are great for shaping things… so sort of forming arches and half moon shapes in bangles etc. so they’re a great asset to your tool collection. I’ve tried a few brands over the years but I just LOVE my 2-9mm pliers from PTL Prestige. They’re not expensive and they just work, so I don’t think you have to spend too much (which is always fab!)

@@samanthalatimer1 Thankyou so much for that info! Jewellery is just one of the many crafts that I practice, I must say when ever I’m in a charity shops I’m always on the look out for craft supplies and especially old tools, as they are generally half the price I can source online, I like to use pre- loved stuff and to be honest most of my tools were inherited from my grandad,car boot sales and the like . I used an ancient cobblers shoe iron for a hammering block but I think I deserve a nice new pair of shiny pliers! 😀🙏🏼❤️🌟

@samanthalatimer18 ай бұрын
Hello 👋 Thank you… that’s very kind of you 😍 I do sometimes patina my pieces, but usually I tend to wear bare copper as I just love the colour. When I’ve sold my work in the past, I’ve always offered bare or patina. I don’t let it darken as I’m not keen on that, and I tend to treat with Renaissance Wax or indeed, just clean my pieces before I wear them 🥰
