Amy, I'm so impressed with this lighting hack, thank you! We live in a 1908 house with very few outlets so your tips are invaluable! 😊

I'm so glad this video helped. How awesome to live in an older home with character though.

We also live in a 1908 home, with lath and plaster walls above wainscoting. I haven’t tried drilling into the walls for fear of cracking the plaster and would anchor bolts work?

It's SO easy to hard wire it yourself especially if you have a basement. You have electricity on both of those walls you can run from (piggy tail to).
@Amy804Sycamore7 ай бұрын
We don't have a basement and I'm not ready to delve into electric work myself.

Oh my! ❤ I adore lighting and vintage/antique. Your videos are very easy to watch and to listen to. I recently moved into an apartment with a woodburning fireplace. Today the chimney sweep came. Now I'm swimming in dreams of a large mounted mirror & wall sconces. And my ceilings are high and a bit vaulted, too! So excited. Thank you so much for your inspiration and wisdom.

That's awesome, glad this hack will come in handy! Enjoy setting up your new place - it sounds beautiful with a real fp and high ceilings.

Hi Amy, I loved your video not only for the terrific information and hack but also very much for your lovely manner of presenting. I've just begun doing some serious redecorating and can't afford hardwiring, but love and appreciate and need great lighting! I've been going down a rabbit hole on KZbin to educate myself on affordable lighting options, and it's so refreshing to not be yelled at and/or watch something incredibly aesthetically offputting! To instead enjoy a gentle soft sharing of information in a beautiful environment! Whew!! So glad to have found you and will be returning for sure! P.S. I've been using rechargeable under counter lighting and it looks amazing. BUT I'm so tired of the constant recharging! I have been using two power strips and am trying to be as efficient as possible in terms of how to connect charging cords to the power strip but it feels like a lot of equipment to hide and a constant hassle to stay on top of all the charging. Curious your thoughts. Oooo, how about a video on undercounter lighting with information on the best lighting strips to use, and how to create a convenient charging set up in the same room!?

I'm so glad you found my video. The recharging is a hassle. Still trying to figure that out.

I have been able to use these lights for 3 dinners. I would say about six hours total, give or take.

I have been searching forever for some option to upcycle some pillar candle holder sconces I thrifted. Puck lights were.... too directional if that makes sense. They also are a pain, as I'd rather buy 4 bulbs for 2 sconces and swap them out to recharge. Ima go check out those links and sesrch magic bulbs. Thank you!!!!

You done started something! I live in an apartment and changed the ceiling lights in the kitchen to match my beachy farmhouse boho shabby chic decor. I want sconces to match in the livingroom. Open concept. No lights in the livingroom. You get the picture. I’m going for it!

This is nice and I see it becoming more of a trend. Wouldn't it have save some time and energy just to use command strips to place it on the wall?
@Amy804Sycamore Жыл бұрын
Command strips wouldn't hold a light fixture... is that what you mean?

can these bulbs be used in a sconce that is already hardwired? My sconces are hardwired, but they have a pull chain in order to turn on the light. I want to buy a sconce that has no pull chain, but I need a remote for the bulbs. I hope that makes sense.
@Amy804Sycamore4 ай бұрын
Yes, they will work in anything or just laying around - no lamp necessary either.

How long does the charge last?
@Amy804Sycamore10 ай бұрын
I don't know how many hours total because we don't use the dining room daily. The bulbs should say how many hours when you find some to purchase.

I am scouring the internet to find a magic light bulb small enough to fit inside a specialty lighting fixture i bought- do you know of any place i can find them in different shapes/sizes??? I am desperate and very close to just returning the fixture

How long have your magic bulbs lasted? I really was ready to order, but it is 1.5 yr after your video and this product has poor reviews now. wah..........
@Amy804Sycamore7 ай бұрын
Great question! They still work. They need to be recharged which is the pain. I don't turn them on often since their in the formal dining room, but when I do, I think I get about 12 hours total before they need to be charged.
@G-P-E-N6 ай бұрын
I do not think this can be called a hack, since you are using the sconce for exactly what it is, a sconce. Cute idea, tho.
@Amy804Sycamore6 ай бұрын
That's true. The hack is that it's wireless, but looks like a normal hardwired sconce.
@deawallace35847 ай бұрын
Nice work. However, please think about not incorrectly using verbs as nouns...i.e., "Give it a tighten." Tighten is a verb...an action word. It is not a noun. KZbinrs really have adopted this bad habit. "Give it a press, " "Give it a clean"..."Give it a mix." etc. Just letting you know...otherwise, your video is very enjoyable. Thumbs up for your instructions.
