So true! So many good DIYers are still barely known. Like sorry, but cutting a shirt and making a crop top and calling it a thrift flip video... I mean, come on! haha. And I never understood the slime trend. I get kids can like this, but who needs 1000 videos on slime making? Anyways, 3 other DIY channels I really like are Adam Atkins (minimalist, simple, but beautiful and pratical), Lone Fox (Drew Scott's DIY channel) and The Nava Rose (she recently made a wedding dress for her friend in 3 days from scratch). I would love to hear your favorites!

the fairy light one would look so cute as a sort of minimalistic christmas tree?? stain the wood a dark green (or paint it) then have the lights underneath!! would also be so cute having the wood painted and have matching coloured lights

Hack for the second (wire) option: use an old wire hanger instead of buying the wire! Many people may have that already which will save them some money!

That copper one is SO LEGIT. Completely beautiful and so cool! I like them all but that one and the second are my favorite for actual light source--triangle one seems lovely on a gallery wall/as a way to kinda do the neon thing without the cost or buzz! Also I love how nonchalant you are about unwiring and rewiring the light kit; electric stuff feels so out of my generally competent crafting wheelhouse

You should paint that copper piece with a sturdy clear coat to maintain the shiny copper color. Otherwise, the pipe will tarnish while the fake copper bowl will not. You could also do that project with a steel or galvanized pipe and a stainless steel bowl for an even more industrial look. Lastly, you could do it with plastic pipe and a Dollar Tree plastic bowl and spray paint any color, even copper, for probably much less money. Just be sure that you use a dishwasher safe bowl (for heat resistance) and a bulb that won't get to warm and warp or melt the bowl. Nice job gals!

just a heads up to anyone thinking about trying these or any DIY light fixtures, my husband owns an electrical company and this is something he very often gripes about. I don't know what laws are like in other places but where we live homemade fixtures violate code. apparently, those wine bottle Pinterest chandeliers cause extreme frustration when he has to flat out refuse to install them into homes his company is wiring. the problem is that they have super strict guidelines on the materials that can be used and the distance the bulbs can sit to the materials before they consider them not a fire risk. So installing these DIY fixtures can void the home insurance if the house burns down from electrical reasons even if they are completely unrelated to the fixture. now this isn't meant at all in a nasty way and I do think these are very cute and the triangle one is all good but I just want yall to know to make sure its okay in your areas before you go making anything involving electricity because had he not said anything I​ would never have thought about this stuff either.

Maddy Ens yes...if we work with something that involving electricity, please make sure that what you have/do is safe. The material, the wiring, is it going to make any short circuit or not, etc. Because it can cause you much much more if something happen. It should be beautiful and safe :) Btw..i love TheSorryGirls' videos!no hate...just an extra tip for you all. #sorry for my bad english

yes! you're totally right on the cost, I was looking at some and the cheapest I could find was $60 for one (and you had to buy all the hardware, light, and put it together). Might as well make my own =D

Omg!! I've been trying to dream up a lamp similar to the copper one, but also using a glass fish bowl I thrifted. Literally walked around the hardware store looking at copper pipe and trying to channel you guys.
