Privet, chuvak, vo-pervykh, ya nadeyus', chto eto khorosho perevedeno ... Proshu proshcheniya za pozdniy otvet .. YA ponyatiya ne imel, chto vy talantlivyy! Moya oshibka, smeyetsya! Pokhozhe, vy mozhete nauchit' menya odnomu ili dvum tryukam s obivkoy, u menya zdes' ogranichennyye znaniya. Just in case it doesn't translate, cause the above looks like a shit ton load of more words than English, heres what I meant bud; Hey dude, firstly I hope this translates well… I’m sorry for the late reply.. I had no idea, you are quite a talent! To be honest I dont watch many makers on KZbin, when I’m at home I rather watch car stuff as I make stuff seven days a week and never thought to look or even think ‘does he have a KZbin channel’ I just dont think like that.. My mistake lol! Looks like you can teach me a trick or two upholstering, I’m limited in my knowledge there. I’m flattered you follow me, blows my mind that you do! A fucking celebrity following me wtf! LOL Hope you are well and good man, kind regards, Ben.

This is the beauty of doing things for yourself. How you want, when you want, as long as it takes and bugger the cost, it'll be correct. Couldn't buy anything even close to as cool as these. Great work mate 👍

Honestly...wasn't sure about them on their own but, sat on your desk, they look mint! Lovely bit of burr. Had a couple of bubbling nightmares with epoxy myself. Woodworm holes each time. There's always some you can't get at and they're a clear resin killer. Any sign of the worm now and I leave it well alone.

Thanks buddy! I get a bit bored of the Walt Disney type vids, its just not true to life, every build has mistakes, a good craftsman knows how to hide them, so think of it like this the more mistakes you make the better craftsman you're becoming! Sorry for the late reply, hope you're well man!!!

Hey-up Brigette 😀Thank you for the lovely complement and sorry for the late reply, I get to them eventually just rather when my head is in the good space to reply. I did over think the design for about a month, the wood should be the star of the show, the Indian ink was a last min idea too, but a hallelujah moment for sure, often how it goes just winging it.. Thank you for your complement, and time saying so! Kind regards, Ben.

Absolutely first class, I can only wonder what it would be like to be able to create something so perfectly beautiful. Absolutely outstanding. I would love to know what the desk actually cost to make, I know it's sale value to the exact penny. Priceless. Brilliant work Ben.

Materials, the oak i milled so technically free, the resin came to about 500 quid, the burl was 50 quid.

Looks great! The pieces all go perfectly together. Very well designed and really shows off the BURL. You have a great eye for design details, such as those feet on the speaker stands 👍. I'm admittedly not a fan of epoxy (except as an adhesive, or boat building), but these are still examples of fine craftsmanship and solid design. Thanks for posting. I can't imagine how much time it must take you to produce and edit these videos 🤘

Hey bud, sorry for the late reply - I know I suck at the comments! I get to them sooner or later when I'm feeling good genrally. Like you mate, I'm well on the same fence too with epoxy. I have a strongish hate for it but cause I see mostly most peeps dont enhance the wood they're using, and use a bright blue or the likes, or stuff a load of sea shells in there. I think some forget the wood is the big Hollywood star of the show! Was why I went with clear, any pigment that flattered the wood would of made the burr blend in, which in my mind would be very wrong! Simply put a tool was used to help show the wood, but I dont think I would do it again, it scratches easily and MY GOD what a ballache to deal with! None the less, I finally have some nice looking furniture in my flat that I made, its a nice place to sit at with all that nice beautiful wood 😀😀😀Hope you're well man! Kind regards, Ben.

@@HewAndAwe Thanks for taking the time! I hope all is well. Keep on trucking, making content, and building stuff. Epoxy is an excellent ADHESIVE.

🤔 you should put a cover over the table, to stop it from scratching 😉
@HewAndAwe3 жыл бұрын
Some doilies maybe 😂 I found a new compound recently, believe it or not says it can shift 600/800 grit scratches (mind blown!) by 3M, gonna find out soon cause boy does this top scratch! 🙁

El magnifico! Looks the part, Ben. That black top seamlessly blends with the speakers.. 👍😁 Edit: forgot to add, what I liked best is how you recovered from those air bubbles. By the way, i had the same steaming issue with starbond super light one. Glad to see someone else have the same pblm 😜
@ChrisFranklyn3 жыл бұрын
That is so classy! Despite all your troubles on builds the end result is always spectacular. Will this be the last epoxy we see from you? :)
@HewAndAwe3 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, hope youre well and good mate! Sorry for the late reply, I know I suck! Probably mate... to be honest, i learnt a lot that most vids dont mention about epoxy, the biggest point is its not that durable and way harder to refinish than say a wax oil! Resin will probably stay as just a fix for knots and checks for me to be honest bud.
@ChrisFranklyn3 жыл бұрын
@@HewAndAwe I've got a few resin project ideas in me, but I'm not confident in it's longevity. Are there millions of river tables on the verge of falling apart as the wood ages? Peter Brown did a good video yesterday showing his years of resin projects and how they've all yellowed over time too.
@HewAndAwe3 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisFranklyn there could be other reasons for the yellowing, like cheap grad none UV etc etc. I can say 100% that when seasonal movement happens the epoxy stretches and contracts, so dependent on season the epoxy will look lower or higher than the wood, hope that makes sense bud?
