Your content is super high quality! Mad respect for your work. Keep it up!! Is that a Cigweld CutSkill 60A Plasma Cutter and how happy are you with it. Any recommendations for a plasma generator. I am using the Lotus LTP 5500 cnc but I might be upgrading soon. This mainly bcs the plasma arc randomly stops while cutting.

@@vankatanemuedobre My plasma arc is constant but my only issue is its only a 35A plasma. It struggles with thick plate, 6mm and above. I have to slow down the travel speed on x and y axis to compensate, then I get excessive dross/slightly build up.

Well done mate, very helpful build series. I’m about to build one myself. I did notice when sparks were flying that the rear cylinder runner on the LS was uncovered. How long was the build from start to successful cut

It took me about 2 months to get to the first cut, but it was worth the wait! I had alot of family stuff to squeeze in between the build. Yep your right I should have covered the whole engine really. To make matters worse the fuel cell for the engine is just below the Plasma table. I did vacuum out the ITB when I realised. Luck the butterflies close tight. lol I better think it through a bit more next cut. Thanks for watching. Sully

@darrenturner6090 Here's the run down on the costs. For anything through Amazon Australia, x 1.5 the price JD suggests. Steel cost for me was outrageous, but I was lazy, I bought duragal tube from bunnings in short lengths, 1.5m lengths. Which is why I made it 1.5m x 1.5m. If I was you, I would get long lengths if you can pick them up, way cheaper, you will save about $200. I used duragal so I didn't have to paint the x and y axis tubes as others have issues with the steel rusting. I think all up I'm into it about $1600 -$1700 not including my plasma cutter, which I already had. If you don't have a plasma cutter, just look into a cheaper brand that meets the requirements of JDs suggestion. Lots of people have had success with the cheaper plasma cutters. Mine is a cigweld easycut35. It's too small, get a 45amp pilot arc plasma cutter. When you buy the plans, buy the XL plans from JD. It has a calculator for whatever size table you decide to make. He developed this option after I supersized mine. There was no option for a larger table when I had to work it all out on my own. My thought is make it as large as you can with the space you have.

Does the jds Garage XL have the conveyer belt for the cables? Or is that something you added

@@craigskinner3878 mine isn't the JDs XL. It was just JDs small version that I had to work out how to make larger. After I finished my build they brought out the XL version. I installed the cable drag chains myself. JDs are in the process of installing drag chains now aswell to tidy up their tables. Hope this helps.

@ thanks mate, I’m in the process of starting the jd build soon. Just going to start buying things slowly, I’m also from Australia, if you don’t mind me asking where you purchased your stepper motors from.

@craigskinner3878 I bought them through Amazon Australia. Just watch the lead times on some items. The shielded cable took 4 weeks to arrive. I would suggest buying it through a local electrical wholesaler. Also the z axis stepper which has the screw and ball nut took 3 weeks to arrive. Just buy in advance before you are ready use things or it will slow your build down and really piss you off. Lol
