And don't forget to lube the hinges every 6-12 months (and of course right after new bushings). Factory manual calls for engine oil, or chassis grease (wheel bearing or cv grease). Great installation video Pete.

Nice repair Pete👍... On mopar A bodys like dart/duster the cracks show up at the rear door pillar where the striker is the solution is to weld a reinenforcing plate to the back of the pillar where the striker goes.... Most mopar hinges do not use bushings and must be drilled for bushings... Its a good idea to get drilled pins for grease zerks or drill and add them your self to extend the life of the bushings.... even just having lube passages where lubricant can get in helps a lot.

Thanks Pete. As a note, the factory pins have 2 pinched areas or raised metal on the pins bottom part. These can be filed or ground off prior to replacement. Also as a tech tip; If installing new door seals, do this before adjusting the latch. The flange these sit on can be adjusted to hold sheet paper when close. Just inspect the entire seal as it can be too tight, smashing the seal or too loose, causing wind, air noise while driving. Once even the entire opening, then adjust the “B” pillar sticker for ease of use. The older 67-72 hinges are cast iron and very difficult W/O a torch to service. If just stiff, heat them and work them until loose. I appreciate all you share with the DIY guys/gals who are learning your lessons. Had both sides replaced on the truck I've been working on for ( way too long 😢 ) another thing to check is the bushing on the catch . I believe the ones on the my truck had been missing for years because I remember asking my dad about the doors not shutting good and he bought the truck new it would rattle 😊

From my experience it seems to me these GM pins and bushings wear the same regardless the weight of the door. Weather it be the heavy ass two door collenaides of the 70"s or the fairly light 4 doors of the 80"s or c10's.

Yes, the hinge pins and bushing used in this video fit many different models of GMC Cars and Trucks of various era's.

Thats a pretty hard trick to do since the hinge bolts - to - body are simi hidden by the fender overhang. It's possible but you have to have a special wrench thats made for doing this trick. it's a Hinge Bolt Wrench --- www.amazon.com/KTC-Door-Hinge-Wrench-DMZ-12/dp/B0029DOJJ4

Hi there Pete. I have a little problem regarding what colour to paint my 68 Coronet. I'm drunk at this moment. I saw a viper yellow 68 Coronet a "Super Bee" with magnum rims on it and just loved it. A friend saw it and said it looked as gay as a hand basket. ???. The slightly darker Viper yellow In my opinion with the Super Bee stripe looks anything but gay. No offence. I know a gay guy who is a panic..funnier than hell. Nice guy. Anyway. Every damn colour I say ..No no you can't paint it that colour....Round and round it goes. Chrysler guys are terrible. "That's not correct" is the constant fraise. Black is no good. It will cost you $20000 for the body work to make the panels straight. Ya but all my panels are new. "Oh that doesn't matter" I think I'll shoot myself to shut everybody up.
