This DIY instruction applies to the manual climate control for 98-02 Honda Accord 2dr 4dr. The only difference between the manual and auto climate control is the size of the led bulb size and the number of bulbs that needs to be switched out.

I tried changing the clock led today and no matter what way the bulb sits the clock doesn't illumintate. You can see the bulb lights but the clock screen itself doesn't what's wrong here?

There is no need to unscrew the screws on the button. The clock/hazard button can be easily pried open with a screw driver.

This is a video how how to replace the climate bulbs. In order to remove the center piece you have to remove the 3 screws that holds it down. 2 screws in the bottom and 1 screw behind the clock. This is NOT a video on removing the clock. We did not remove any screw to remove the clock

Just bought an accord yesterday and next day all the buttons on my climate control won't turn on. The a/c, defrost , all the led lights won't turn on is this a bad fuse if so will could I locate it? It blows cool air but not cold air since the a/c button won't turn on. Also just got filled with a/c coolant . Appreciate any advise

phonsirelly Mine has the same issue. You will probably need a new Climate Control Board the thing hes plugging the LEDS into in the video. Mine sometimes comes back on if you give it a little love tap.

Hi I have a 2002 Honda Accord V6 automatic coupe and when I removed the panel where the clock and hazard switch were 2 red wires from the vertical plug came out and I don't know what they were for.

Do all three of the T4 bulbs need to be functional to complete the circuit on the manual climate control (cc) module? History: I used the solder wire hack to get the cc module running on my ‘99 Accord. Now, the mode buttons work and everything is functional. Except for the mode button lights: buttons 1, 4 and 5 (from left to right) light up, but buttons 2&3 don’t. My multimeter shows that one of the bulbs is bad. But when I swap the bulbs around, nothing changes. The same mode button lights are still good/bad. I’m hoping I didn’t fry the board when I soldered the wire.

The only light which doesn't come on in mine is the temperature control knob on the right. The one which lets you choose whether you want hot or cold air. yes the bulb is #74 aka T5. This applies if your car is an i4 and not v6.

I have a 2002 Accord EX. The back of the panel is not like yours. Mine has SIX holes for bulbs (two different sizes by the look of their plastic caps) and no T5 (74) attached to any wires, like yours are. What's more the bulbs do not turn with a Phillips or flat-head screwdriver. Looks like I need a special head. So, I can't tell what sizes they are. What's the size of the clock bulb for an LED?

OK, I have more questions......my climate control lights on vent , floor , defrost etc ......seem to flicker on and off to a point it shuts ac off and I can't switch controls from floor to defrost even if I want to. The fan blows from what ever vent was on , but I can not switch it. What do you think this is ? Thanks for all your help.

what size bulb LED do you have that lights up back behind the engine temp gauge on your instrument cluster. I know the three big ones in back of the gauge cluster are 194. but then they have a smaller one for the temp. I tried T5 and it doesn't work.

+e-tee Hold the bulb socket base with one hand and grab and pull the glass bulb with the other hand. The glass bulb will separate from the base.

Hey buddy one of the light in climate control does not light up for me particularly the rear deforester and the a/c button, i already reseated the bulb and inter change it on one of the bulb and it's still not working, i know the problem is the bulb. flipmode rodriguez It is not fuse related. If the fuse was bad.. all the lights on the climate control will be off. led has + and - side. The circuit board has + and - socket. You have to make sure the metal part of the led bulb is touch those contacts on the board. You also can test the led bulb with just a 9v battery.

Hi buddy thanks for the reply, actually i did all that you suggested, my problem now is the clock light, it was working from the original bulb but when i changed it to led bulb it didn't light at all, also turn out my last option is to replace the fuse I took out the spare fuse on the hood panel then insert it nothing happen still has no light in the clock, i even interchanged the same volts on the fuse box just to troubleshoot still has no light, actually from the last resort that i tried i did with the connectors are attached and when i insert it did it clockwise a spark lit up that's the time i changed the fuse but no avail. This was functioning from the original bulb but when i changed to led bulb it didn't light at all. I think it's not faulty or something I don't know pls help

Lyndsey Thomas The fan knob light is 2:04, if your referring to the little green indicator lights right about each button then you have to remove the circuit board and desolder the original lights and solder in new leds with resistors.

DIY: Car Modz Thanks for your help. Yes, my fan knob light bulb doesn't look exactly the same but the way it is attached to the circuit board is. Is the only way to replace it to desolder and resolder a new one complete with leads or can the bulb somehow be removed from the leads? I didn't want to pull on anything too much and break it!

To change your climate control lights to blue can I just add the blue led or is there a film on them? Same with the clock?

There are film behind the climate control.. not on the clock.. However, it is not necessary to remove the. They will work but the color and brightness will be altered because of the filter.

yes, it will shine blue. The one on this video.. is a white led.. not blue.. it looks pale blue because of the blue filter.

Just take it off and find your sizes from there. Or take the cluster to a orielly or autozone or Walmart. Led bulbs aren't to expensive at Walmart.

John G To remove the dash on the odyssey you have to turn the car to accessory mode and shift the gear shifter all the way down. And then take a small pry tool and pop the rectangle cover (from bottom up) on the leftside of the radio. Insert your fingers and pull straight out. There are a few wire harness clips you have to undo and I believe there are 5 or 6 neowedge bulbs you can replace. I'm not sure on the size of the bulb but you can go to your dealership and they can get you the correct parts. If you looking for LED then pop out the bulbs ( just like I show on this video) and measure the size and order from superbrightleds.com (neowedge led bulbs.. they come in 3mm 4mm 5mm)

allan egar Those are common issues with the 8thgen accord. Good news though is the burnt out bulbs are replaceable. However, to gain access to the back of the climate control to replace the bulb is quite labor intensive. You have to disassemble the center console. remove 4 screws .. remove 4 more screws that holds on the center pocket.. remove 2 screws under the radio and 2 more screws behind the center trim pieces.. After all that is remove.. the whole radio/climate control center pulls out. I have a 8thgen aftermarket radio install I will be doing so I should be able make a similar video at that time.

You blew out the ACC relay fuse. It is located on the driver side fuse panel. Replace the Acc 7.5a fuse.

I need to change the gauge cluster and the climate area. Around how many of each do I need? Sorry for the hassle but I would appreciate the help.

Could you link me to the t5 bulb. I'm having a hard time finding it on SBL.
