This diy reupholstered accent chair uses Boucle fabric and is an awesome way to transform a boring chair! I reupholstered my chair without using a sewing machine, making it pretty easy to do! #shorts #diy

Same My family members already do the stuff I want to do and I really want to do something they can't but my parents are engineers (which is my dream job), my sister is an artist and violinist (art and cello are my hobbies) so it really feels like I'll be compared to everyone else unless I do something drastically different

@@AceOfStars0 you should only EVER NEED to compare yourself to who you were yesterday or your past lives, and who you want to be tomorrow. It's toxic dysfunctional family to compare you to other relatives. At the end of the day it's YOUR LIFE and you got only this one & to let them steal your thunder and joy from your life by comparison is toxic like energy vampires/suckers who live thru the life blood of others-The living.

I started sewing a little earlier than you via lessons from my Mom on her sewing machine. I distinctly remember finding my first amazing fabric, too! Mine was red and white checked, like a tablecloth, and had big black ants 🐜 over the print! Lolol My Mom thought I was nuts but she paid for it anyway. I sewed it into a vest, lined with matching bright red fabric, and wrote it to school once every other week. Everyone else thought I was nuts too... but I've never been more proud to wear an item of clothing in my life. ❤ Thanks for sharing that story and getting me to reminiscence! ❤

“ It was the first time I couldn’t be compared “ that’s just sad to me but it is true no matter what you try to do if someone else can do it better you’re going to be compared. Heck my mom lectures me if I ever get excited about some thing saying “don’t get your hopes up” this just makes me think that she believes I can’t do it

4H Sewing Club starting age 8. I still have the little table cloth and napkins I made. 4H still exists and I still use so much of what we learned. Stayed in the club until age 15. Sewing and other lessons still used. 4H stands for Head, Heart, Hands, Health. My 8 year old granddaughter takes clothes she gets at thrift and garage sales turning them into outfits for herself. She doesn’t sew using scissors and hand stitches. Her feelings are much the same as yours. I’m sure!!
