You blew it out of the park with this one. I also was impressed by your hubby's book "handle" turning it sideways was NOT what i was expecting & that makes your hidden door more unique and hard to find!!

Let your vision be your comission! 🥰 That an AMAZING idea - maybe this is the universe telling you this is what your space needs (unless you are somehow unable to do it if where you live doesn't allow it, or because of financial constraints) Hope you do get that built at some point, it's will bring you and many others a lot of joy! ❤

I just wanted to let you know I appreciate all the work you do in creating content in this crazy plague situation. It has not gone unnoticed that you haven’t had a lot of in person collabs and I’m sure that’s making content creation really hard. Not to mention just the material costs, delays, lead times, and out of stock items. I am truly impressed by the work and creativity you provide. Thank you again! I hope you are staying well and happy. I know we don’t sometimes see what’s behind the camera. Love you girly!

Oh my goodness Danie. YOU ARE 100 PERCENT CORRECT!!! I made an adorable tie- dyed blouse yesterday and last night I was hemming it and the little voice said.." You need to use the invisible hem foot!!" And I was like, no it will be fine. I'll do it by hand. It's not fine. It won't stretch. The shirt is made from stretchy jersey. LISTEN TO THE LITTLE VOICE IN YOUR HEAD!! We know what I am doing..redoing today! Your stuff turned out awesome as always. You are very creative. I love your channel. This came so timely! I have some stairs in my living room that I have been wanting to open up underneath and make a secret room for my grand babies. You just gave me the inspiration to go for it! You know, the room was already cool, but who knew it needed that bookshelf? It looks like it always should have been there. Loved this build, but what I think I loved most is you being totally honest about the process, as per usual. And you popping out with Kenobi was freaken adorable.

When I was a kid, maybe 6 or 7, I wandered around the house all the time looking for secret rooms. I never found one 😂 I’ll just have to add one myself someday! Also, I showed my 6 year old the finished result footage and he got so excited to put one in our house! Thanks for being so inspiring!

First off, that blue pullover you’re wearing in the very beginning of this video + your hair = stunning 🤩 Second, oh my gosh this is all my little kid dreams come true! The secret door is awesome, I totally would’ve made that my reading nook if I had had a secret closet as a kid. Third, I love that you reused an old shelf and your two-tone idea was great! I was like “ehhh” when you first talked about it, and it ended up looking so good! Last, I love the way you styled the shelf. The shelf and secret door just fit so well with the moody vibe of that room!

Wow! This is like a childhood dream come true--a hidden room opened by a book on a bookcase!! Maybe you can find a spot in your home for a secret passageway? No, now I'm getting greedy, lol! I also don't usually comment, but you have inspired me so much the past couple of years and I love your content, your sense of humor, your positive attitude, perseverance, humility in addressing mistakes and learning from them, encouragement, openness and honesty, and creativity. There are many projects I've not only started but stuck with because I've seen you tackle so much. Thank you! And as an older woman, power tools were off limits when I was younger, how awesome that I can watch and learn and now have quite a few power tools of my own! So satisfying to DIY!

This might be the best yet! It’s perfect - the way it looks, the way it works. It’s actually a lovely little bookcase I’d want in my house as a sweet piece of furniture, but the fact that it’s a **DOOR** makes it truly amazing. There’s something about hidden spaces that brings a home to a whole new level. :

I lived in a place with a secret door to a hallway. A carpenter had lived there before I moved in. Absolutely loved it. As I live in a European flat, there is no dry wall to be removed. Sooo... I've got a secret bookshelf door for my upstairs bathroom, which I realized after it was installed that it makes the perfect panic room cause it locks from the inside and an intruder wouldn't know it was there. A couple of tips because the shelves move when you open and close the doors and you don't want stuff falling off: I've got a couple of bookends bolted to the shelf. Poster tack and/or earthquake wax under decor objects can help them stay in place, or you can use a hot glue gun to stick them down. Heavy decor objects, solid metal, stone etc, stay in place better.

Talk about a true partnership! Geoffrey deserves some kudo’s here: Sir, well done! And yeah, that little voice, I’ve ignored it too and regretted it! I was almost done with a 3D embroidery piece and one of my French knots turned into a regular knot and the voice said: get a seamripper, it’s saver. And I said; nah, I’ll just use my tiny scissors, what could possibly go wrong…. Well, ladies and gents, when you cut a whole in the fabric of your embroidery piece, you have to start the whole thing over, the end. 😥😥😥

Absolutely brilliant way to hide a door that would otherwise look boring or ugly! If I ever have to deal with a crawl space door this is the solution. Thank you so much Danie for sharing your creativity, knowledge, and for being completely real with your process. P.S. I love the way you styled the bookcase afterwards!

Celebration of little wins is a great policy! So many of the wins are small, or steps, or necessary elements. It is great! The calm and measured voice with which you make the 'dowling' announcement is the one I use after I throw a wall-eyed, full-on banshee fit. I laughed and hope that is not the case for you.
