I'm a bit confused. I viewed an older ESOTERIC KZbin video which suggested to never clay the paint unless it will be machine polished afterward as claying will cause marring and scratching. He suggested that it was better to just chemically decontaminate and have a bit of crunchy contamination left than to have scratched paint. Are your new Perforated Synthetic Decontamination Towels safer than claybars? Love your videos. Thanks!

I know that the OEM look is the standard for detailing tires, but a car that comes out of the factory or from a dealership lot is NEVER as glossy as a car that's been professionally detailed like the one in this video. I ceramic coated my 2 cars this past month, so I am now on “maintenance mode”. Quick questions: 1) I am using rinseless wash now, but I do have some Maguires Wash and Wax leftover. Can I still wash my cars with that? I am not interested in the wax part…it is just to not throw it away. Would that do any damage on the stack application? 2) Can I ever do any polishing on my cars (jeweling pad for example)? Or would that damage the coating? I am just wondering the do’s and don’ts. Thank you!

That does look good, Kris. I’m going to do my handler’s (wifey) 2008 Camry. Now I don’t have the DIY product, but I do have Cerakote. Do you have any experience with that? It’ll be interesting to see how long yours holds up, and if a future second coat will hold up maybe even longer. I’m going to look online to compare prices for the two. Also we’ll be able to compare notes on how each product is holding up. I do a weekly wash on her Camry and her RAV4, as well as my F150. I can do this inside year round so mine will be a realistic test on what can be expected. Looking forward to the upper body coating results. I have some DIY 5 yr and 8 yr ceramic coating. Trying to decide how to put them into use before I use on a customer car. I did do a customer car recently with Blue Collar at their request. Won’t have any useful feedback unless they bring their car back in the future, so we’ll see 🤷 Take care- congrats again on 4000 hrs

I am so confused. How can you do this without scratching the whole car? The only way I can think of is that the cars in your area is a lot less dirty then our cars here in Sweden. Especially during the winter the cars get really dirty with salt, tar and more. I do a lot more steps than shown here, usually takes up to 2 hours for the exterior, degreaser for both petroleum, organic dirt applyed as foam. Wheel cleaner and foam on tires with a lot of brushing, covering every inch of the car when rinsing with the pressure washer, then iron remover sprayed, no mechanical touching, just rinse after 5-10 minutes. Always having problems with particles left on the paint, then schampo applyed as foam and worked very carefully with a a lot of variants of supersoft washmitts and I still leaving lovemarks on the paint. I have learned never to use a regular sponge because it will just drag the contaminants around. In my mind if I tried this on my own car it would look like I washed it with a stone. I want to get better I just dont see the logic in how this works. Would love some help on this and what I am doing wrong. I consider myself VERY gentle and almost to careful in every aspect and still end up with lovemarks.

I'm having an impossible time getting Ceramic Gloss to last. It doesn't appear to hold up very well to heat. I've noticed that after just a few drives all protection is gone right in the center of the hood where it gets the hottest. Parking the car outside on a sunny day also appears to destroy it. That's with no rain or weather of any kind, just sun and heat. That's on freshly clayed and polished paint with the ceramic gloss allowed 24 hours to cure.

What did you polish with?

Is this something that you want to do on a car that had the DYI 5 year Ceramic Coating applied in Decembeber 2024.

I'm curious to know if you can use the clay towel on a coated car too.

So is this wash, clay and PROTECT really a Wash & Wax? It wasn't clear. Also, what did you charge for this type of service?

This one makes me nervous; I like to see the foam to know I have that lubrication on the paint.
@diydetailofficialАй бұрын
DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash provides more lubrication than most foams
