I just used this on my white Toyota Tundra. Knew I should have bought two as I ran out with a couple of panels left. My first time going through entire process of decontamination, polish, and coating. The coating was super easy to level and buff using products in the kit. I waited 5 minutes and no issues at all. Learned a lot today. Look forward to performing on my wife's normal sized SUV in near future. Appreciate your videos.

We normally get 2 mid size cars from one bottle. Next time use less coating on the applicator. You just need enough to cover the surface,no need to flood the surface. That said white is the most difficult colour to coat.

Great Question. Yes when you finish coating, soak the applicator in your wash bucket for 15-30 mins then rinse. You can also flip the strap to the other side.

Love the 5 year gloss monster as i coated my brand new white car outside in the open as i was feeling lazy to get my canopy out and it came out absolutely glowing within first couple of hours and has got glossier every day since Wednesday, luckily it has been slightly warm in South West of UK. BTW DIY detail retailers need more stock in UK 😊, as a detailer I am trying out all your products that are available in UK mostly on my own vehicle first and love every single one i have used so far or what i could purchase.

finally coated my wife's new X3 with this coating today. loved how easy it is to level, but I ran out of the coating so I couldn't do the roof. I had to take out the 1/2 leftover 50ML bottle of Gyeon Pure EVO from 2 yrs ago to finish the job. I used the Gyeon to coat 2 mid-sized SUVs (Jeep GC and Lexus RX) before and still have 30-40% left, so there is no way I could used up all 30ML of solution to only be able to coat 3/4 of one smaller suv. Gloss is about the same as Gyeon Pure EVO, but this is much easier to use, and I only got about 18months out of Gyeon, which is supposed to be a 3yrs coating.

Unfortunately our coatings easy to apply nature, also makes it easy to over apply. Once you get used to it, you can easily get 2 mid size SUV’s from one bottle.

Thx for the video. Used the 5yr coating on a number of cars now . Couldnt be easier . Id like to see the gloss reading after the polish stage and then once coating has cured. There's one channel on youtube where the guy takes before and after coating readings on various brand coatings, that show drops in gloss after coating has cured.

We unfortunately don’t keep the cars more than an hour after coating them. To reach maximum gloss takes 30 days

@@diydetailofficial is it better for the longevity of the coating to keep the car indoors for longer? I believe the curing time is 1 horu (correct me if im wrong), but if I keep it indoors for 3 days, will that help with the coating longevity, or doesn't matter?

The polishing step is optional. If you’re happy with the condition of the paint , no need to polish.

Great video as always. I’m curious what the gloss reading would have been if you finished with the rotary and your red pad prior to using your coating. Also, any suggestions for a decent rotary polisher? I was thinking of trying to finish with a rotary and the Maxshine M1000 seemed to get decent reviews. Thanks for your time and advice…

Thanks, yes generally both the measured and perceived gloss is higher with a rotary. The Maxshine rotary is a good tool.

Nick or Yvan, I did my first rinseless wash, iron remover, and ceramic gloss and dry outside my apartment this morning. Definitely a learning curve. I noticed circular chips or divets in the clear coat afterwards that I never saw beforehand. I commute 60 miles daily and have have heard rocks from semis hit time to time. There are no scratches near the chips. Would a wash and decon process expose these more visibly or is there something I could be doing wrong? Thanks.

No need to discard them. When you’re finished applying the coating, let them soak in your wash bucket a little while.

Yvan I have a question. Have you ever went straight to polishing and skipped the decontamination steps? I've always wondered about this. Because we are basically sanding out the clear anyways so why is it necessary to get fallout off first

Yes in testing, like orange peel in paint, polishing doesn’t remove it.

When using the stack method with the 8 and 3 year coating are you actually gaining almost double the thickness of the coating vs just a single 8 year? Or because they're being combined into one coating with different attributes, does the coating stay around ~1 micron? Thanks!

You’re adding a minimal thickness with the stack because of the way the coatings combine chemically.

Yes it can be used on all exterior surfaces with the exception of the tires.

PPF shouldn’t require polishing. For the wheels, yes 5 year I’d excellent, for the convertible top use DIY Detail Interior Ceramic Coating.

Question. Once the 5 year is applied, what is the maintenance going forward. I tend to do a full detail twice a year. I assume once the 5 year is applied you wouldn't need to polish or ceramic until the end of the 5 years. I have heard you don't use wax once you apply this ceramic. So what product do you use to keep the gloss etc going forward? some of the other vendors (who will go nameless) talk about ceramic, glaze, sealants, wax etc... adding wax every 3 months... exhausting.

Maintenance is simply washing and decontamination as needed. If you want to apply a wax, sealant or ceramic toppers you can, but it’s not required.

Does a budget polisher give better results and correction than a random orbital palm sander or does a random orbital palm sander give the same results with the same pads and products as a budget polisher?

The longer the stroke, the more it cuts, the shorter the stroke, the better the finish. If you don’t have a polisher, but have the sander, give it a try.

Hey guys I applied the 5 year coating on my parent's car but about 30 minutes after I finished applying it the temperature went down and condensation formed on the hood and roof. I wiped off the condensation build up thinking it was just not leveled then realized what I had done. The next day it rained and the water was beading great in those areas. Do you think I ruined the coating by wiping off the condensation since it hadn't been 1 hour since the coating was applied?
