absolutely 💯 truth. apply just enough for full and even coverage and that's it. also waiting too long after application is another mistake most make. they think that the longer it stays on the surface the longer it'll last but that's not true. most of these new coatings bond to the clean dry clear coat in seconds so there's no need to wait 5 10 minutes before wipe off. 1 minute is more than enough time for it to bond. whatever you wipe off is only the solvent left on the top layer. get it on and get it off easy and stress free not worrying about high spots because you waited too long. Iyvan will always tell it like it is. no bs 💪

Absolutely true and important. Do small sections and wipe off the coating almost immediately after applied, as soon as it flashes (rainbow effect). If you wait too long, it is almost impossible to remove the flash and you end up with a very dull, flat finish. Seriously, in warm temperatures, one minute is usually plenty of time to wait before buffing it off.

The number 1 complaint I see is people not being able to clear off the Ceramic coating because they failed to CLEAN - hand wash their vehicles then use a Clay Bar to remove all the containments imbedded in the clear coat ! If the vehicle isn't clean don't use a Ceramic Coating.

Hello DIY!!!! Love the channel. I’m having a had time figuring out on picking the 3,5,8 year. Also I have zero choice when I pick the coating I want I am a DIY I have to do this outside don’t have a garage or canopy. I have a 2019 F150 paint is like glass and in excellent condition and doesn’t require any paint correction. When I do how many bottles do I need for my truck? I also have to coat a new Tesla white I haven’t had a chance to inspect the paint on wyet I already have the GS polish and incredible suds. Recommendation? Thank you

Yea I learned that a few years ago. You only really need to do more than usual when you’re first priming the pad. Of than that I just put a light strip down the middle of applicator and that’s enough. Way harder to level and remove when the panel is over saturated.

can admit i was lazy and didnt bother with how much i applied although i didnt mind as i was ceramic coating vinyl wrap with cerakote and i was replacing the vinyl soon the main thing i was seeing is how well it beads how long ittl last etc i did my bonnet and trunk the bonnet i wiped down the surface and used a clay mitt and then iso alc after jsut to be abit thorough and the trunk i just wiped down with water and soap, i have a few high spots on the trunk and some particles under it i know now why we need clean and how much it shows and glad i cleaned my bonnet as the bonnet looks perfect while the trunk looks forever wet in some spots lmao

People who have never done it and dont remove it properly leave their cars looking crazy, theres literally endless examples of people who had a hard time removing/leveling their coating because of improper towel usage, applying too much in too big of a section etc.

Here's how difficult ~ On a windshield, replace it. On paint ~ must be sanded off & you better know what you are doing. Just wash & wax your car, it's the same thing but cheaper.

The top mistake is using too much

biggest problem is, people let it sit for either too little or too long. Thumb of rule is to let it sit for roughly 10 minutes. So don't apply products on more surface areas you cant reach in time to wipe off. Some coatings will harden very fast after even 1-2 minutes. So apply the logic dependant on how long it takes to apply and harden

Wax gives you beading and UV protection, for 2-3 months. A ceramic coating will last for years. Also a ceramic coating provides chemical protection that a wax can’t.
