My New Year’s resolution is to do a one step paint enhancement with a palm sander and install diy details 5 year coating on my mom’s car. Thanks for the inspiration!

I was a bit intimidated by the process as well, but 18 mo later all my ceramic coated cars are beading up like the day I coated them. DIY Detail’s Gold Standard is so user friendly and gets the clear coat so smooooooth. Don’t overthink it, have fun and good luck. I picked my coating, then watched the manufacturer’s KZbin videos, you’ll do fine.

People always assume pre-rinsing will help clean better and a pressure rinse alone will take care of all the grit… thanks for busting that myth with this video!!
@diydetailofficial10 сағат бұрын
Thank you.
@MegaFregel2 сағат бұрын
A car this dirty should be pre rinsed. You can see the effect of using a product is minimal. So don’t waste your money where the majority of work is done by the pressure washer. It’s not busting a myth. The evidence is right there in front of your eyes. Of course someone trying to sell your their product is going to tell you you need to use it at all times.
@diydetailofficial13 минут бұрын
The 3 panels that were treated were much cleaner than the panel that was only pressure washed. Plus with the chemical pre-treatment the paint doesn’t have a pressure washer pushing the dirt over the surface without lubricants

Good test for the 3 products used, but I was hoping you'd "pre-treat" the front using just water! The 3 products used all were all applied with water, and nothing was used on the front. The water + product has time to work on the mud but the front had nothing. It'd be nice to see just water versus the other chemicals. For this specific use case, mud, water would work decently well all on it's own. For traffic film and other things? Not so much, obviously product has it's place. But for all these side-by-side comparisons, I never see anyone use just water as a pre-treat against the other things they're using.

Surprisingly, the area that was only sprayed with water looked surprisingly good compared to the products. At least in this test.
@diydetailofficial11 минут бұрын
In person there was a big difference, also the pre-treated were much safer for the paint.

Would you guys ever do all clean then followed by rinseless for the first rinse off? I hear you talk about doing all clean then incredible suds but just curious for winter washes coming up in the next few months

Seems like the All clean is the winner here. therefore it should be the go to for most cleaning. Can u use the all clean the same way you use rinseless with a legacy sponge?
@diydetailofficial10 сағат бұрын
DIY Detail All Clean isn’t a good choice for every day cleaning. The legacy sponge is best with DIY Detail Rinse Less Wash or DIY Detail Incredible Suds

Can you mix all clean with rinse less wash to get better cleansing with rinse off.
@diydetailofficial14 сағат бұрын
No

Can we coverup our car with car body cover after 1 hour of applying graphene coating, and if we coverup car then its still cureing under the cover without IR lamps ?
@diydetailofficial20 минут бұрын
Our coatings do not require IR curing and can get wet 1 hour after installation. We do not recommend a car cover

Anybody has any tips to clean the green residue of rubbers around the windows? And especially in between of those. Not specifically about the tool, but maybe more of a standard order of operations. For example window open or closed, foam, rinse foam etc. This is for cars that have not been taken taken care of. And are always parked outside. For your information, I always do chemical (mostly rinseless, sometimes foam), rinse, rinseless. With pre spraying some parts with a citrus cleaner. And still stuff is coming out of nooks and crannies sometimes. Any insights are much appreciated. Thank you for your time.

During the contact wash stage use a soft brush. Use your wash sponge to flush as you are brushing

@diydetailofficial Thank you! Sounds like I'm one of the overthinkers you are always mentioning. But I already knew that to be honest 🙈 Thank you for the reply amd the information!
@hartlanddetailer56703 сағат бұрын
I believe it is not only the tools you use, but the chemicals. Have you tried both a high pH soap and a low (Acid) soap? Have you tried using 3M non scratch pads or Mr. Clean Erasers? Have you tried a pressure washer? Or possible 4 #000O steel wool? Always start with the least aggressive method, both with chemicals & tools.
