This is why some of the old Victorian homes are still standing. Craftsmanship is a lost art. Now, it do it fast and get paid. I love seeing a craftsman like my dad used to be. He could so many things, but he did woodwork as a hobby. I used to sit near him on a stool in our garage, and watch him take pieces of different wood veneers and cut them into intricate shapes. Then build wall pictures, jewellery boxes with small inside compartments cover with felt.my dad would have been 100 yrs old this year. I can still remember the smell of the wood and it brings wonderful Father’s Day memories. I suspect your children will have similar memories when they are grown. Happy Fathers Day.

Awe yes, the brown paper bag technique. That was an interesting design technique that I wasn’t familiar with, until you enlightened us on your last build. Doug and Ashley, I can see that you are both very good at detailing what and why you are designing and building your home.
