I have a beautiful female calico, and we named her Callie. I'm so excited about the progress your making on your mobile home investment, but I would love to see your kitchen finally finished as well as your back porch at hopefully your permanent residence. Once you finish it, I would love to see a big workshop/garage built that can hold all your yard equipment, woodworking equipment, and space to store your wood, etc, for your future projects. I've been a subscriber since the very beginning, when Maverick was a baby, so I've seen what all you have accomplished as a team, which has truly been an awesome effort! Can't wait for your next video!!!!!

21:37 This is probably not news to Doug and Ashley, but for anyone watching, the importance of avoiding any stainless steel fasteners or washers with aluminum can't be overstated. I just learned that the metals were incompatible last summer, but then, in December, while selling a car, I noticed that the stainless screws I used to attach my 6 year-old license plate had eaten right through it on one side and left it cracked and jagged on the other. That was no tragedy, but if it happened to the siding of a building, the damage could pile up for a while before being discovered. It is something that never would have occurred to me before I learned it by accident.

We have a cat in our neighborhood that always comes around to visit. I found out the cat has three different names (that we know about). We don’t really know which neighbor official owns it - he just makes his rounds. When I asked 2 of my neighbors they said he just comes around at different times. They each named him too. He is a good cat, does not cause any issues. We gave him a name so we could say: look Russ is in the back yard again. One neighbor named him Church, since they would normally see him when heading out for church each Sunday. We all have cats and he comes around to sample our cat’s food - we don’t mind so I’m sure he thinks we all belong to him 😊.

Doug, when y’all coat the roof exterior, I recommend using the white roof seal/coating for metal roofs. I had a mobile home years ago, the home was always hot in the summer, even using my A/C unit… I bought a couple of cans of the white roof coat/seal. I got up on the roof, ( my roof was slightly rounded, not peaked as yours), used my water hose, some detergent and a little bleach, used a small push broom and scrubbed the roof clean, rinsed it well and let it dry a few days. I got back up there and used a paint roller with a long handle, “painted” the roof with one coat, and after a couple of days, got back up there and recoated it. I believe the cans were three gallon cans, maybe five… Stuff isn’t cheap, but it made a world of difference in my utility bill in the summer, vs the old silver coating. Please be careful if/when you get on your roof, wishing you all continued success and health as you progress on this project!

I had visions of you poking a hole through the roof for a second while cutting free that trus... Lol then thought "naaa it's Doug, it'll be fine. Looking at the inside of the mobile home now. It already has an improved, more stable look about it. I'm always amazed. I love this channel. You have been my inspiration for what I've done in the few months I've lived off grid. Just think about it and do it. Thank you for being you both Doug and Ashley!
@ethelryan25710 ай бұрын
Splitting the backing material into two 30' sections was smart! My license gives me access to supply houses which only sell to the trades. That makes it easier to get hardware such as those aluminum washers. I wonder if one of you shouldn't pick up a trade license, register an LLC and see if that doesn't open some doors for you? Goodness knows you do better work than much of what I see on job sites. Far better.

This brings back memories when I was a child finding rivits all over the backyard because my dad was building a motorhome from the ground up. That's part of the reason I love watching this channel. I grew up with a dad constantly building boats motorhomes etc. Of course the best part was using them after they were completed... Your kids will have very fond memories! 🙂

OMG. So I had this female cat coming over and eating. I had a bunch of males and they would fight each other even though they were fixed. So we took her in and got her fixed. Well a couple days later the neighbor came over and said someone fixed her cat. She was like who would fix her cat. We of course knew nothing about it. We had that cat for years. We named her Becky. The neighbors moved and left her there.

We had a young kitten show up at our house yesterday. I didn't bring it in last night because we are to old to chase it around. My husband brought it in the house this morning and I told him he had 😊to keep an eye on it. We have a dog that is old and she's not able to deal with it. It was a sweet baby and wanted a lot of love. Thank goodness my daughter took it for our granddaughter. When our last dog passes we don't want anymore we are in our mid 60's and I don't want to leave one for someone to half to take care of it. We've lost five in our 35 years together.

I bought my home 17 years ago and it came with a few feral cats hanging around sometimes. I've had them and their descendants here ever since and wouldn't have it any other way. They have been controlled by someone so they're usually no more than a few of them. I live in the country and next to a large field so these cats really help with the mice and I never get mice in the house. The cats will not let you near them but that's okay too.

Look into Henry's Tropicool roof coating. It is silicone. So you will be married to silicone products, but it seals great, and the heat reflection is fantastic. We have used it on flat roofs, and I plan on using it on my 1980 double wide metal roof. The flat roof we have it on stays cool to touch on hot days. Doesn't split and crack with heat either like the silver stuff.

I lived in a manufactured home in the 1980s, and I found that after applying an exterior roof coating, roof rumble on windy days was greatly reduced. I guess it takes a lot more wind to lift a heavier roof, and the 2 buckets of coating weighed 80 pounds each. A good way to find the holes from outside: have her stick a wire or a plastic-coated bread tie through the hole and you'll be able to find it faster.
