May I ask for what reason you placed the bag over the melon? And when do you know to take it off?.
@theblessedone97003 жыл бұрын
@@bekh6117 I wish to know it too. This fruit & it's plant has no pess. No animal & insects would touch it. Because everything of this plant is very bitter. Even when it is well cooked. I am not sure but I think to make it grow bigger. Noticed the wrinkle disappeared & the fruit got bigger. I believed to make the fruit matured faster thus less bitter taste as well. Because the bag was in an open air space, the fruit did not turned yellow.

How to do of pollination cuz I have water melon plant and have plenty of flowers not making fruits
@opheliamaplesАй бұрын
@@susanpavlovic4719You can hand-pollinate when the plants have male and female flowers at the same time. The male flowers have thin stems and the female flowers have a round bulge at the base of the flower that becomes the fruit after successful fertilisation. Pluck off male flowers, remove the petals to expose the stamens better, and then brush the stamens onto the stigmas at the center of the female flowers. You can also use a soft bristle paintbrush to load up the pollen from the male flower and dab the pollen onto the female flowers.

Awesome teaching video where how to plant and grow
@theblessedone97003 жыл бұрын
If you have 4 seasons in your country you can grow this plant. Go Online & search in China for this melon for seeds to order to buy. Use a hand nail filer to file a bit on the side edge of the seed to help it sprout fast. Soak seeds for 2 to 3 days then put in a seed growing small pot to grow for baby plant. Once the seeds has grow 3 small leaves & stem grew to about 4 inches tall transplant in the row of dirts or in a 12 inches wide & 12 inches tall plant pot. Put pot in full sun area. Just follow this video. Good luck!

I would like to know what is the gtanule that u mixed in the compost?
@kharminamina3847 Жыл бұрын
Hi what size is the pot u used? And how many sun does it need? And when watering does it only spraying it on top like in the video?
@opheliamaplesАй бұрын
I use a 15-20 litre container (33-35cm diameter) for 1 to 2 plants. Bitter melons need at least 6 hours of full sun a day. I found that they do better if the pot is kept out of direct sunlight but the vines can climb up a little way and reach full sun. One year I grew them in a semi-shade area where they only got morning sun and while they grew okay, they didn't fruit well at all. So sun is important. You don't have to spray water like the video. They probably use a gentle spray gun because the seedlings are still small and tender. Just use any method you like. However, when you water it's best to avoid wetting the leaves. Occasional rain is okay, but frequent watering from above will increases chances of fungal diseases. I water at soil level. Happy growing and may your harvest be bountiful 🌱☀️❤

Thanks for sharing! I enjoyed watching this video! In the past, we did not pollinate the flowers as once they started "bearing" we shielded them from the sun while they grew, as the skin lightened and the "fruit" ripened. Also, while the plant grew we added pumpkin, banana peels plus lots more egg shells to increase the yield of the plant. Also given that the plant may last for 6-9 mths or more, there were times when we picked the melons early as they were grown mainly for food and with less "fruit" on the vine, some of the melons grew larger faster
@danielleaf91462 жыл бұрын
So in the shade they ripened faster and the skin does not lighten? What kind of fertilizer did you use and how often? Questions about the granules he added were not answered, do you know what they are? TIA
