Certain woods like birch and mahogany are known as sensitizers meaning that the more contact you have with these materials, the more sensitive you will become to them. Great Video!!!

The young man is very good with that stick. He may have gotten those skills from Morgan of The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead. Now thanks to you, my wife will be wondering where the post went from our 4-poster bed, lol. Another job well done Gene!

I just used a hand plane to round a 2 x 2 and it was quick and pleasant woodworking..

@@robd7703, after this I ordered round plane but I haven’t had a chance to try it. But it sounds like much more fun.

@@DIYGene I used a regular plane , a number 4. First marked off 1/4” on all sides and the planed to the marks. After that just continued to plan off high edges until round. It was fun. Not sure how you sharpen a round plane but I love to sharpen my regular planes.

Gene I don't think the disc you put on your grinder was for sanding it's for cutting small branches the one you could of got has pin like heads on the disc and there's a tungsten tip one the eats the wood but leaves it rather smooth 😊
@DIYGene
@DIYGene Жыл бұрын
I have seen those too and I am going to pick one up. But this disc is called a carving disc. But maybe more like a chain saw style for sculpting. Thanks for watching.

Reminds me of Gandalf and his staff (awesome movie). I always pay the extra money for handmade stuff because it has character and it looks really good - better quality too, so I would rather buy this one than a synthetic walking stick, it looks sooo good. My son earned his black belt taekwondo many years ago, looks like your son would be very good at that too. Wishing you and your family all the best, hugs from Belgium - Daniella.

Why in the name of all that is Holy are you using that chainsaw like that? That is not a grinding disk. You want a single piece that looks like a rasp bent into a circle.
