Thanks for the video. I have 2010 ridgeline needs a rear bumper. At 5:00 in the vid-what is the plastic strip that the cover is attached to. Mine is broken and the cover won't reattach. Thank you for any help

Thanks for the video, it allowed me to access the rusted metal bumper underneath the polyurethane cover and swap it out myself. My 07 had one additional screw on each side underneath the splash guards but was the same otherwise. Again, really appreciate it!

FYI just a heads up you have the two license plate lights reversed in the video.. They are labeled left and right and should shine on the plate not out behind the vehicle. Thanks for possting this though it was very helpful in helping me replace a broke tailgate hinge.

i have an 09 that the side where the bumper is sort of clipped in between the taillight and wheel well pops out of the track is there a way to secure it in there or is something broken?

Are you taking the cover off to replace the rusted out steel bumper? I’m hoping it’s just bolted on. I’m going to cut out the steel tube and weld in new.

I was not taking it off for that reason, but the bumper beam is bolted on and should be easy to take off. The only thing you may run into is rusted nuts on the beam.

Thanks for the video it helped a lot. The screws that hold the taillights in broke the plastic tabs off because they were rusted. The 17mm bolts that hold the bumper reinforment bar on were rusted. 6 out of 7 of them came off easy with an impact. The 7th was hard to reach because the trailer hitch was blocking access. I had to use a wrench to remove it an boy was that fun. Fine threads and barely enough space to turn the wrench an inch. That took about an hour. Once the bumper reinforcement bar was off I realized that I had a lot of fabrication to do. I would have much rather replaced it but couldn’t source it locally so out the welder came. There seriously should have been a recall on these. Oh the joys of living in the North!

I also live in an area that gets a lot of salt on the roads and most of the older Honda beams are looking like this. Luckily many of the new models have aluminum bumper beams.
