how about a laundry chute, from upstairs. a bit old fashioned, but it will save you a great deal of time, dragging your baskets down the stairs. just a suggestion. and your style is good enough for home design.

A tip for the countertops. When cutting laminate I always seal the cut end with silicone to keep water out & help out last a lot longer. Particularly important in kitchens & laundries. Nice work, looks great! 😘 Also wondering how your floorplan for upstairs aligns with the basement. Could you install a laundry chute somewhere?

8 and half minutes in and I have to say I liver the utility hallway. That stuff is a pain if just plastered(or drywalled) over with a small door opening to a panel. Also glad you love the ceiling, but I could not handle that... creepy basement + open slate space in the ceiling, I would be constantly feeling like something is watching me from above.

Looks good. Two thoughts; 1) Seal the cut ends of your countertops so they are not ruined by water. 2) That dead corner can be turned into a storage space for the utility room.

There are two entrances to the boiler room and they fit through both doors. I also just replaced them this year. So, hopefully we’re good for a while. ☺️

That looks fantastic! I think my favorite bit is the ceiling. It really finishes the space without closing you in, like a lot of low drywall ceilings in basements. I also think a great big sink in a basement just makes sense...there are so many things that you don't want to use the kitchen or bathroom sinks for, and a big basement sink works really nicely.

I need to get the same french drain waterproofing done to my own basement and was hoping you would talk about that process a bit. Did you contact multiple contractors and have them bid the job? Always a great job. Just one thing, shouldn’t you used pressure treated wood on the lower framing plate?

I'm on the same boat here...There should be pressure-treated wood on the bare concrete floors then you can put regular framing studs on top of them. Also, you shouldn't put drywall up the way she does, it should be 8 foot long ways so if you ever flood you only rip off the bottom half instead of all the sheetrock.
