Would bad hinge pins be the cause of my doors not latching right after I replaced the weatherstripping? It seems like there is a gap in between the door and frame, no matter how many times I slam the door.

I had the same issue on this blazer. It was the thickness of the new weather stripping. Check you door by pulling up from the bottom it there is any up and down motion the pins and bushings need replaced.

Nice video, also can mark outline of hinge on door with magic marker... also can cut twice on pin lower and higher so don't need to push so far through hinge... Vice grips good idea to hold hinge.

Thanks for the video. Gotta do this on my Suburban. The doors on the passenger side are sagging really bad.

Why exactly is this done? Do the doors begin to sag and not close properly? I'm trying to kill a bad wind/air leak noise in my 84 C10. But the doors seem to shut fine.
@DIYOnTheHouse11 ай бұрын
Yes they sag and have to slam them shut.

@@DIYOnTheHouse Mine are not that way after I replaced the door striker bolts. Safe to say I wouldn't benefit from new pins? Or would it be better to replace them anyway, if nothing else fixes this bad wind noise?

Thanks for posting this video. I've been aware that the door pin bushings wear rapidly on the C/K series and have had this repair on my list for a while.
