I've been watching all of your videos over the last week. I ended up sanding to bare wood a bathroom vanity base that was painted and peeling when we moved in. I filled the grain with the drywall compound yesterday and will sand that later today. Questions, for the bathroom, what primer is good for under the BM advanced in satin dark green and how does the Advance hold up over time? Would you suggest any kind of poly on top of the BM advance? Thanks so much for all of the information you have given me.

I have 2 larger sprayers and just bought the 360 connect, which is this tool minus the motor and battery and HUGE chunk of the price. But Can't agree with a lot of what you said. PERFECT for smaller jobs which come up often NOT ONLY IN DIY. Saves having to prime the Graco X5 or X7 to lay probably less paint than what's going to be wasted priming and in the hose. Love it. Yes this is the cordless but in the 360 version which connects to a cordless drill ( and yes as a result is still a little heavy) it is a MUST HAVE ESPECIALLY for DIY. Agree to disagree.

Can you use the grain filler on oak cabinets that have already been painted once but not filled.
@karenlong6764Күн бұрын
Mine looks thicker/chunkier than that. Does it come in different thickness?

For popcorn ceilings there tends to be fine, medium, and large styrofoam balls. And sometimes some ceilings are more "muddier".

36 minutes, 2 years late- Cabinets look great but I can't understand why everyone wants white cabinets in their kitchen in the past several years... Yes, its looks clean and fresh for awhile but kitchens get the most grease and dirty fingerprints but more so, it makes a kitchen look so cold and very uninviting. Kitchens are the heart of the home where people gather the most. A warm and inviting atmosphere brings out a happier, relaxed vibe in people.

Thanks for this video. 🎉It's the second one I have watched so far. Have you figured out a way to do a little patching before you paint a 20-foot High wall? I have some earthquake cracks on the ceiling corners that opened up over the years even though they were patched and painted when I moved into this new condo after the Northridge Earthquake in 94. Someone must have figured out a way to do that, right? So that I don't have to stand on top of a 10 ft ladder with bad knees. 🙏 Thank you.
@diypainting2 күн бұрын
I haven’t figured out a way to patch like that without a ladder yet. But would love to!

I've been looking for this video for over 10 years. No really. I knew that there must be a way to repaint my 20-foot walls. But I could never find a video or blog or any painter showed it was possible. I have been living in a condo for 30 years and the walls need painting! I have a couple of fancy ladders but I cannot climb the tall ones. My knees just don't work for some reason. I have a Little Giant four-step ladder with a handrail and use that installing drapes. Now that I am in my 70s. I'm a little too shaky to go any higher than that. Can't wait to see your video on using a roller for 20-ft ceilings. You are a godsend.❤ Just subscribed.❤❤❤

I started using the Graco quick shot with a fine finish tip for painting cabinets and I’ve had some really good results. The reason I got it is because the sprayer handle is small enough to fit inside the cabinets and the sprayer is small enough I can be very mobile with it. I enjoyed your narration during the video, it was very enjoyable.

So i didnt thi it the first try. But the issue wasnt it being chunky, it was just pencil thin lines. Woukd thinning fix that?

When you spray doors and drawers in place, don't you leave a brown, stain line on the cabinet?

Painted those after. Not the way I’d do it anymore, but this was almost 8 years ago actually (2017).

Good paint is worth every penny spent. Do meticulous prep, use the best paint (and equipment. A cheap brush will jack-up a paint job) Sounds like you know your stuff. Thanks for this video. I was not looking forward to repainting my kitchen cabinets with oil-based paint. I HATE the clean-up!...also, TSP is your friend

Hi, I have been watching pretty much all of your videos, I am planning to spray the doors with Wagner’s 5000 and brush and roll the cabinet faces, going with stixs primer and advance in white colour, since the recast time is 16 hours, how do you go about spraying the doors with two coats ? Do you do back side first, wait 16 hrs and then flip to the front side and spray the first coat ?? OR you just wait dry to touch and then flip and paint?
@diypainting2 күн бұрын
If you aren’t in a hurry and can wait the 16 hours, do it. But usually I can flip them once they have been sitting for 4-8 hours in dry conditions. I always start with the back, then go front, then back for the second coat, and finish with the front second coat. Good luck on your project.

Awesome video. I have a couple of questions: 1) How would you prep previously painted kitchen cabinets? 2) What sprayer would you recommend to not only spray the kitchen cabinets but also the interior of a house? We are in the process of purchasing a home built in 1938.

Can you do this on cabinets that a home owner DYI painted over the golden oak cabinets before? Like over paint not raw wood?
@diypainting8 күн бұрын
Absolutely. Just sand them first, apply the grain filler, then sand, move on to priming and painting.
