DIY 10 inch Subwoofer Box - Budget-Friendly Build

I built a very similar Box 3 years ago with a Pioneer 10" DVC 4ohm D4, ran it from a Part Express Dayton 240 Watt Sub Plate AMP. Well Braced and yet most of the Bass was wasted off to the sides of the cab. It only sounded FULL when placed in a corner or in the back of my GMC Envoy. So I rebuilt another Cabinet but with a 4" Belled Port (5 would have been better) and never looked Back!

20-30 bucks for a large circular saw (I got 8 inches one), some screws, a drill, glue. Use glue and instead of a load of clamps, use screws to clamp it. Just leave them in, plaster over em. Sand down and paint. I use sealed only because less smearing (putting it very easily and fast but a lot of reasons to seal it, or not). Sealed would give you faster response overall but make sure you look up Q and EBP values to make sure the driver fits a sealed cabinet. (GRS 8 inch 8 Ohm for example will give you Q of around .7-.8 which is a tad high but it will be small and F3 around 40Hz-43Hz or so.) Dayton plate amps are cheap but if you are good and have a soldering iron you can build one in. If you have no clue and source has a sub out just get any amp, could be 1U (I got a Crown) bonus points if programmable so you can tune the signal.

i mean you could do it with a hammer would just take way longer. if you don 't own a hammer thats sad also drills should be a common household so realistically all you have to buy is the materials.

Use wood spacers clamped to the bottom of the jigsaw plate to slowly cut material perfectly straight. That will save alot of time sanding or filing it later. (Basically a guide to keep it steady and not track off using your hand alone from the vibrations the jigsaw causes.)

I personally use screws and silicon sealant. That allows me to be able to take the box apart later if needed.
