With our last truck I was able to get the generator into and out of the back of the truck, It was not fun but doable. Now with our new truck the bed height is around 8" higher and to save our backs I setup this system to safely and easily load and unload our generator.

Solved the issue with your help! Thank you so much! My setup and situation are different but same goal. I'm loading a heavy diy battery generator housed in a big toolbox for my solar setup into the back of my suburban. I'm using a hand winch I had on hand attached to the sturdy frame of the back seat to hoist the unit up a factory ramp i bought. Had I not seen your video I would still be scratching my head how to pull this off. Thanks again! This will make my life that much easier!

I have been dragging a 100 lb hydraulic jack cart for 10 years to lift my 250 lb honda generator for my coffee concession business. This is a perfect option to installing a winch. Thanks for the post. Awesome.

You are welcome, I use to lift this generator into the back of our old truck but it was taking a toll on me. When we bought this one there was no way I could do it so I had to come up with a solution.

It's funny you mention the hydraulic table cart. That 1,000 lbs capacity cart from Harbor Freight has been on my list of things to get for the longest time, because it's such a great thing to use to load and unload my truck. But the problem is I wouldn't be able to take it anywhere, because IT'S impossible to get in the truck by myself. As I was watching this video, I thought, "Yeah, I could use this for that hydraulic card". I need a more gradual ramp, though. Fortunately, Harbor Freight sells that also.

Love it. I was going use my harrington lever hoist to help unload a furnace. will do something similar, but probably statnding in the bed, letting it down a hand truck.

Cool your giving me ideas on how to get my solar generator or my dual fuel out and back into my cargo van. I don't yet know how I'm gonna do it but I know the vans roof rack is going to help. Any suggestions? I am a single female almost 60 so trust I'm listening.

U could of use any little 5$ pulley and a rope. But u got that fancy ramp so u could of just push it up without any rope rig. That’s what I did on my 15k btu window AC it’s weight same as this but gotta get up to taller window and two thin piece of 1x. It’s like caveman Egyptian building pyramid
@DiyRVandHome
@DiyRVandHome 12 күн бұрын
I could have also just lifted it into the back of the truck as I have done several times. I built this so that my almost anyone could load the generator safely. As far as the pulley and rope are concerned I will continue to recommend and use a system that is rated to handle the load not a 5 dollar pulley and any rope I find. Thank you for your comment

I'm trying to figure out how to do this to get my 12 and half foot wilderness atak120 fishing kakay off and on my short bed truck bed lol. It has a trolling motor and weighs 85lbs empty. Once on ill add my t bar. Was thinking of adding roller wheels on a single ramp.

The information you shared of your success with the loading and unloading the gen was very encouraging. Thanks so much. Jesus bless.
