I like your idea of removing the 2 hoses before starting the video and explaining how they were removed. Some people show how they move parts out of the way and that diverts attention from the actual fix and makes the video too long. I have subscribed you.

Just had this on my 2012 Cruze. Your tip about disconnecting the harness ends/sensor ends fixed it for me. Glad the parets weren't that expensive - I didn't need them, but for $15 each, I'll keep them on my spare parts shelf.

If you don't break the sensor off you can replace the radiator sensor without taking the coolant hose off. It's a squeeze, but it can be done and you don't have to drain all the coolant.

Hello. I recently had a coolant hose blow and replaced the hose. Now the car heats up, but when I start to drive it the coolant temperature and engine temperature keep dropping slowing back towards C. Do you think this is a sensor issue or a thermostat issue? The radiator fan has started spinning so unsure if related. Thanks!

Im sorry Michael Borders to keep putting my 2 cents out there to people but im very expierenced with Cruzes i love them too much and love helping fellow owners out. So foxman to give ya some info on this.. in simple terms the 1.4 setup on the cruze is such a well setup cooling system in such a tiny package that the heat you will expierence in these getting INSANLY hot is completly normal. The burning plastic smell your smelling is more than certainly the heating up of GMs wonderfly designed cheap plastic that consists of the heating vents and doors that open and close depending on where u want the air going. Nothing to worry about just maybe adjust the temp down a tad once it gets warmed up so u dont boil yourself. The coolant smell altho could possibly be a leak starting to show itself near your coolant resivour or oil cooler line but more than likely if its not very strong than its probably just evaporating coolant due to you having the heat up so high. Have anymore questions just lemme know!

I own a 2011 Chevy Cruze 1.4, my temp gauge will go just above half and linger for a few seconds and shoots back down to below half where it should.. I've had problems with my valve cover gasket causing my serpentine belt to sling oil everywhere and my question is there is a sensor connector below the belt on the engine shield that is covered in oil could that be the temp sensor connection thats gone bad because of the oil? Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. It’s very important to position the sensor itself properly into the radiator. In the event that the sensor is not shifted into the radiator insert properly, it will not go in all the way & seat flush internally. In this case, the actual clip will not be able to slide in & lock the sensor in place to create the water tight seal. We recommend carefully positioning the sensor into the radiator as shown in this video. Please keep us posted. 😎👍🔧🔩

@@Thatoneguyviner in total, I’ve replaced both sensors, the water outlet and the thermostat. It’s still coming up. Only thing that temporarily fixes it is disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. The gauge rarely gets to a proper reading. I’m gonna have to take it somewhere.

These cars are pure junk. My daughter's 2011 has constant problems and only has 61000 miles. Trans control module went out at 47000 and GM wouldn't help due to age. Thermostat went out at 50000.valve cover gasket failed at 55000 and was dumping oil into the spark plug wells. Now this bs

@@daniellipp2883 I've had the same problem. Changed both sensors and thermostat....still getting the error message and temp gauge is stuck on COLD. So frustrating. What did you end up doing??

Replaced the radiator sensor but now when I add coolant it completely drains it as soon as I do so and starts to leak from that sensor

Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. Have you verified the sensor is installed correctly? If not positioned correctly, the sensor itself will not seat properly. Keep us posted. 😎👍🔧🔩

I'm replacing mine because it is leaking from there. Does anybody know if I can just use some liquid gasket or something like that?

Sometimes it's just a fluke. Use a scantool to erase and see if it comes back on before going through this process. Codes or no codes, a scantool will erase this.
