I had a model older than this one that I love. My sister has difficulty with tools that are too heavy and she actually loved mine and found it easy to use kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG . This is a newer model but was even lighter which she really appreciates. She enjoys it and I no longer have to go to her house to trim as she can handle it fine. Haven't used it enough to comment on the battery life but lithium batteries last longer than the old style. Being cordless makes it easy to trim the far edges of the property. The entire yard can be trimmed with one charged battery.

Thanks for the tip! I just bought a Husqvarna 128LD yesterday to upgrade from my old snot green Poulan P1500. The Poulan still runs great after owning it for 9-10 years. But on that one, you have to cut the line into two equal lengths then stick the end of each line into a tiny hole in the spool and wrap the lines opposite from each other. This Husqvarna is definitely an upgrade in all aspects. But I’ll keep the green machine around for just an “in case” backup.
@obliviousmemory4 жыл бұрын
Okay, I’ve got it spoiled just like you showed in the video (I think!) but I can’t get my line to advance once it gets too short while cutting. Growing up we had a weed trimmer that we just knocked the head hard on the ground and it would advance more line, but my Husqvarna isn’t doing that! I have to keep turning it off and manually advance it and sometimes I even have to take the head off completely to pull more line. What am I doing wrong? I purposely got a good trimmer so I wouldn’t be dealing with this problem. Please help!
@DIYwithMichaelBorders4 жыл бұрын
obliviousmemory Thanks for watching, let’s get this figured together. The head is designed to be able to feed more line while running. It’s important to have your trigger engaged while tapping the head on the surface. The rotation of the spool gives it the momentum to release the line & feed it outward. Keep us posted. Us fellow DIY’ers need to stick together! 😎👍🔧🔩

I am afraid I have restring it incorrectly bc the string isn’t pulling out when I push the blue bottom. Is it supposed to?
@DIYwithMichaelBorders3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. What’s your update? Is it working properly yet? If you turned off the motor, can you manually push the button and pull the string? If yes, you may need to press the hand trigger a little harder which will allow the trimmer head to spin much faster to help feed line out as the button is compressed. Very important, make sure motor is off before trying it. Keep us posted, we are here to help.

Thank you. Need HELP. I bought a second T25 head with string and within 20 minutes of use, I went through 2 spools of of string. I'm upset and bewildered. I have the 128LD. I promise that I did not keep hitting the feed button on the bottom. Any suggestions? I paid approximately $30.00 for the T25 spool from a big box retailer and I feel sick. Please help.........anyone.... I've used several different brands over the past 20 years and each spool would last a season. Very shocked and disappointed.

Frank Tillman Thanks for watching & sharing your experience Frank, that’s odd. 🤔 The first thing that comes to mind is possible loose string. @@DIYwithMichaelBorders I went to Lowes to buy more of the string. I still get confused on how to actually "wrap" the string properly as once that's done, it won't go back on properly. When I twist it so that it does go back on, the strings lengths shortens. At one point in time earlier today (Friday) I was using my 130L and I guess the spool wasn't on all the way in place, the entire lower part of the spool flew off hitting my wooden deck and broke the part on the lower spool that you need to push in in order to remove from the spool. So, had to make yet another trip to Lowes and luckily I got the last package that had the entire spool part. I just don't get it sometimes trying to restring a fucking weedeater, why can't it be simpler 😪 😫 😩 😭 😢

@DIYwithMichaelBorders3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching & welcome to the DIY Raptor Club. This can happen for a few different reasons. Trimmers can get pretty stubborn when sting made from a different manufacturer is installed. We recommend installing string that’s made by the manufacturer...Husqvarna in our case. In addition, too much string can cause lack of feed. A third issue that people run into which is very common is too much grass buildup which leads to the trimmer had not fully re-seating when put back together... in other words it can be offset and not feed the string efficiently and as designed. A friendly cleaning may help. 😎👍🔧🔩

I just bought mine at Loews and I was using the wire it came with already in the spool when the wire got short I would tap the button on the bottom and the wire got back to size. But then I don’t know whether I am out of wire because one hole has about 3 inches of wire sticking out and the other none. Am I out of wire or did something go wrong because when I hit the button now no more wire comes out and the one hole had nothing as I said. Oh!! No!! 😂 it uses just straight gasoline doesn’t it? Just kidding!! I like it it runs great but I am in the learning stage.

Mike Skidmore Thanks for watching Mike. For the best results, the button should be pushed at the same time the trimmer is in full speed/trigger engaged. Keep us posted. 😎👍🔧🔩

Great video! Explanation was short and precise and the presentation was perfect - just the right speed. I viewed it once and was able to restring the weeder on my own and get a back to the yard! Thank you!

Thank you for the video!! I have a RedMax 260TS commercial trimmer but the spool is from Husky brand, but it fits perfectly on the redmax. My trimmer lines kept over lengthening by like a foot on each side today on a clients lawn and I couldn’t figure out why. After 6 tries of having to re-spool, I gave up. Seen your video later that day at home and did the same process demonstrated here on the video, step by step and it got on there spot on. Works like a champ now.
