We have a Whirlpool D/W on property at the resort that is leaking from the pump assembly. I found the part online and will have purchasing order it. Thanks to this video I should have no problem replacing it. It happens to be the exact pump assembly that you showed here. Thank you very much for doing this video. These 2000 whirlpool dish washers are better then the newer crap, best to keep the vintage stuff cause they break down less frequently then the newer crap on the market. My pump still works after 23 years I just have a leaking motor Housing.

Thanks for the video. Helped me to go through all the cleaning, even I took out the pump and oiled the motor bearings. However, my dishwasher (this same model) still doesn't pump out the water. I suspect the solenoid or some part is not telling the pump to pump the water outside. When doing the end of the cycle instead of pumping out, it keeps rinsing the dishes. Can you please help me?

Thanks for watching, it may be damaged wiring that connects to pump motor however if pump motor is operating as designed…it should be good. Possible faulty sensor or solenoid. Fixed it, the draining hose was clogged. Replaced it with a new one. Now the dishwasher works great.

Even better, I just figured out it’s not the housing. It’s the Impeller and Seal, now the repair is going to be even cheaper.

Hey Michael, I have the very dishwasher that you are replacing this motor on. I’m trying to remove that flat drain grade behind the motor to clean out under it. Have you tried to remove that drain grate? Does it just pop out?

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders ya I might have to go with this part, the impeller is giving me a problem. I even drilled above the shaft and still will not budge. This other video I watched the guy with ease pops it out with a pair of pliers, I am like BS. My pump motor works still what a waste of a good motor. I will keep it for down the road. It’s made in the USA, quality products USA made like the rainbow vacuum 1950’s

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders there is no "drain“ position on the cycle switch, only the "Rinse" position before "Off"

@@knight880213 Thanks for the reply, hopefully it’s not a faulty timer however, we cannot rule that out completely…🤔 Since your machine does not have a Drain specific labeled icon, you’ll have to carefully shift the selector clockwise until the drain portion of the cycle engages and the system begins to drain. If you are able to drain your system manually by doing this, it’s best to replace your Timer.
