Remember being blown away hearing this back in 91. To this day, that opening first minute is still one of my all-time favourite scratch routine segments. Clean, uncluttered and works so smoothly. Never grows old.

Taro Nunez Consider the year 1991, DMC had only been running for a couple years then and the incorporation of beat juggling and other new features had only yet become a thing around that time/decade. Sure DJ David’s technical ability may quite not be your thing, but it sure was something completely exciting and new for everybody from that time period (besides, who else have you seen pull off a b-boy move on the turntable?)

Many performance ideas from FASCHER (also of Dj.Q-BERT) were then copied years until today. D.FASCHER wanted only FUN & showed everyone where it went long..!!! Dj.Q-BERT wanted presents & more more than ever as a living legend & absolute as the No.1 CULT Old Scool Master. So he`s always professional present. Considering also his age & especially his two children. Just about awesome & amazing what this man has achieved. In my opinion, his daughter has been around for a few years even better than Q-BERT itself. The feeling that this currently still underage girls presented in your handing. Is so far away paced. No one, no matter what age you can hold a candle. I`ve both been there 2times LiVE, once seen in LONDON & in GERMANY. Incredible what the two, especially his daughter delivers..!!! I loved dj david in 91. How fitting that this would be the last time speed and body tricks would win a world chip. It was the end of a era. Steve dee and qbert moved the art (dmc) from this to beat juggling advanced scratching etc. But david ended the era with a bang

I remember watching this for the first back around '94 -'95 when I first got into watching the DMC performance. After watching Q- bert performance, I said to myself that DJ David was gonna lose. Q-bert took the game to another level from Cash Money, and it needed something special to beat him. Well. Spinning around on the tables did it. Best single move in DMC history. If not for that move David would have been second.

This was a really weird winner. But faster and crazier meant better back in those days...up until around 95 with Roc Raida, who took the Cash Money style but advanced it. I love A-Trak and still do - but his 97 winning set was arguably less technical than Roc Raida's 96 set. Probably tighter though. Craze was a game changer in 98 and 99. That's when it all ended in my opinion.
