I think the style of the album lights, which is a mixture of folk and electronic suits her best. The newer stuff is too poppy for her. You can really feel her magic when she gets into more organic music.

Her very first album (and I do mean the very first album, not the American edited version of Lights that was missing like half of the songs) had a ton of songs like this on it. A lot of the songs were cut for the American release for some reason and now people here just know her for the electropop stuff like Lights and Burn lol

One of my favorite things about Ellie is that if you just heard this on the radio for the first time and you had no idea who she was, you would at least know she's British. So many artists lose their accents when they sing. I think its pretty cool for her to keep it.
