This 200+ wedding was a BLAST! Not only did I have an entire stage to spread out on, but I was able to use the EV EVERSE-8 for the first time for cocktail hour. This amazingly compact 8" battery-powered speaker packs a serious punch and is a top contender in the battery-powered speaker arena. A full review is coming, but for now, come get a first look at Electro-Voice's BRAND NEW speaker created with mobile DJs in mind! Speaker drops today!

Just pulled the trigger on ordering the everse8 from Sweetwater. I have been a long time EV fan with my grandfather building sound reinforcement speakers in the 1960’s using EV drivers that were still thumping at parties in the 1990s. Bulletproof! Was making do with JBL eon one compact for ceremonies over the past few years but never really comfortable with it, mic input levels always needed to be cranked to get adequate volume and strange led light rings around the controls hard to see outside, etc. looking forward to enjoying ceremonies again rather than being nervous about the PA speaker. The 12v outlet to power mic receivers sealed it for me :) nice work capturing all the details of the gig and rocking the dancefloor!

Hi Rachel, that Electro-Voice EVERSE-8 looks nice. I've been using the Bose S1 Pro battery powered speaker and it works great! I have to do that "Table Dash" this weekend for the first time, hope it goes well. Only difference is I have to dismiss each table one at a time to the dance floor to take the picture with the bride and groom. Sounds fun :) Love your videos, you do an AWSOME JOB!

Really outstanding in every aspect, Rachel. Your technical excellence in your DJing is every bit as evident in how you explain just enough to get key points across for newbie DJs, but also tips for DJs with experience who still want to up their game. Your enthusiasm for your craft is inspiring and your editing and use of text and verbal explanations helps viewers understand why and how you are doing what you do. While I never will be a on-the-road DJ, (I just do a little Grandpa Jam DJing for friends & as a donation to non-profits) I've also found the Everse 8s to be great speakers. They have served (with one EV sub) as speakers for a dance for 200 and will do the same for an upcoming smaller wedding. Not as much punch as your other speakers but plenty of volume. Keep the vids coming. Outstanding.

Hi! Have you checked how long it takes to fully charge an empty Everse 8 battery? Accurate to the hour and minutes. I want to compare this with my results. And while charging the speaker, which is turned off by the on/off toggle switch, sometimes the LCD display flashes, not always, but this happens. I don't understand if this should be the case or if it's abnormal.

Have you use it for ceremony use yet? Have you run a lapel mic through it? Curious how it does. Looking to buy this or the s1 just for ceremonies where i can’t use my k12’s due to power locations. Bought the mackie go and while it sounds ok with music, it’s garbage running a mic through it. Just doesn't have enough volume to push a mic through it. Price isn’t an issue but quality and something loud and clean for the officiants mic and processional music.

@DJRachelLynch
@DJRachelLynch 10 ай бұрын
Welcome to the channel. Happy to answer any questions. They rocked. They are a great speaker. When choosing a speaker I consider the following… The number of people in attendance is only one consideration. It depends on the TYPE OF EVENT you’re doing. It depends on HOW DENSELY PACKED the people are going to be. It depends on your SOUND OBJECTIVE (how you want to fill the space). It depends on HOW LARGE the room/dance floor is. It depends on HOW LOUD you need to be at the farthest point in the room. It depends on the UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS of the venue/room. It depends on your CLIENT’S EXPECTATIONS (think student prom vs corporate picnic; do they want or need to to be crushed by sound?) It depends on INDOOR/OUTDOOR considerations (sound moves differently with and without walls). It depends on your knowledge of PROPER GAIN STRUCTURE and knowledge of BUILT IN FEATURES of your speakers. It depends on what your speakers are realistically DESIGNED FOR/CAPABLE OF. Maybe some other things I’m forgetting too. Point is… Always do a site walkthrough. Always understand what is being asked of you. Always know the performance limits of your gear. Always bring the right tool for the job and you’ll never have a problem. 👍🏻 These are perfect for my average weddings. I wouldn’t bring these to a prom.

I'm always learning something new every time I watch one of your videos & I been a DJ since I was 12 and I'm still a DJ to this day. But I never knew that There was much more to preparing for an event than just bringing my equipment. I'm an Old School DJ with the New School Style "just keeping up with the times" I'm a one man show, consider a legend in Hartford by many people on & off the radio, but I'm just a nice humble guy that loves to entertain people with my music. So, what I'm trying to say is that I am inspired & impressed by you. I also work alone when I Dj & travel town to town here in CT. Thank you, DJ Rachel, for everything you done that helps me be a better DJ. Truly yours DJ Professor of Sounds. Facebook Rivera Jr, Hector.

Always appreciate you being here and stopping by the channel Hector. From one CT DJ to another I respect your hustle and kindness. Truthfully, private event DJs are so much more than just DJs. I’m expected to be a lighting designer, event host, day of event coordinator, DJ, Photo Boother, tech solutionist,support for the videography team or musicians, marketer, promoter, etc. There are so many layers and moving parts to this job. I appreciate you recognizing that. We work hard to make cool things happen for cool people. Enjoy your Halloween!

Awesome to see how you work the dancefloor, great job! Did you play 'Cha Cha Slide'? - Might be wort mentioning i made a remix of it to be a little more "clubby", not to promote it or so but could maybe be interesting for you :)

My photo dash this weekend started right at dinner time, we started at the family tables and moved around the room. What people didn't see as the couple went from table to table is we also had the coordinator dismiss them for the buffet line right after their picture was taken so when we got through with the dash many of the tables had been dismissed. That accomplished two things. It kept people pre-occupied and engaged but it also speeded up the dinner process. Most people didn't even realize it.

@@DJRachelLynch honestly. I’m excited. Been using the jbl for ceremonies and, while it’s great for the parametric eq and dialing in some hard acoustic spaces, it’s very underpowered. And the batteries are starting to lose some charge. Would rather have an easier option.
