Theyre really not rare if a person is secure in themselves and make sure they surround themselves with the right people. Will was able to do that with his friends, but wasn't able to do that with women. I wish he could work on his security with women so he could just bail on Jada and realize that women aren't precious little jewels, but some of them could be trash.

Much love and respect to DJ Jazzy Jeff!!!! I absolutely love him keeping it 100 about Will Smith, and I agree with him completely!!! Will has been in the business for over 30 years and has one raw moment, and people want to throw him under the bus!!! Jazzy Jeff is speaking absolute truth when he said if all of our raw moments or bad judgements were put out there for everyone to see, including some of those so-called celebrities that were criticizing Will's actions!!! They'll soon forget until they're caught up in some scandal on TMZ, and want the forgiveness from their colleagues and fans and then request that everyone respects their privacy at this time!!! Oh yeah, they won't have that same energy for themselves as they did for Will!!!
@Mr.Oct___
@Mr.Oct___ 2 жыл бұрын
Would that same theory & sentiment hold true in your mind if Will had shot Chris? What if his assault resluted in Chris falling awkwardly & crippling himself. ...Is it just one raw moment then? Some moments & acts are more costly than others. William failed in an epic way that night. Even now as they converse about the scenario...they dance around addressing it in full form. "When the thing happened at the Oscars"???? Excuse me? You mean when will walkeed on stage and assulted Chris Rock publically don't you...
@DavidWilson-tr2qj

@@Mr.Oct___ I wasn't condoning Will's actions, just appreciating what DJ Jazzy Jeff was saying as a person who knows Will better than anyone. Besides how many times did celebrities like Sean Penn publicly assault people, but then eventually move on with their life? Again I say Will had one moment, so should he be thrown under the bus for it? And to answer your question, no the same wouldn't hold true if Will had shot Chris, but it's still a raw moment, none the less.

I admit I may be wrong (it’s happened once or twice in my life 😉) but I believe that slap had more to do with Jada than Chris talking about Jada. I won’t say where or when but I worked security for a well known hotel and I met Will and Jada (though the bulk of our interactions was escorting them from their car, in the private elevator and to the door of their suite). Will was down to earth, genuine and laidback celebrity I’ve interacted with while on the job. We were instructed to never interact with celebrity guests beyond that which was necessary to do our job. However, Will always struck up a conversation with me, always asked how my day was going and never went into his suite or car without saying “thank you”. However, Jada was cold, condescending and treated everyone as if we were blessed by God to even have her make eye contact with us. I can’t even begin to count the number of times she would roll her eyes when Will would joke around with anyone on our detail.

I think that you can both look at what Will Smith did and be upset about it because it was wrong and then after the shock and upset subside look at all this stuff that Jazzy is talking about. I definitely hear what he is saying loud and clear. This is always going to follow Will but I just hope he gets to live it down. At the end of the day that was one moment in his life. I don't think people should wrap him up in a small little box because of that. The guy plays at the high stakes table and this time he came up snake eyes. But the guy has a thousand other wins. I think everybody is also said that he handled this situation extremely well he gets major props. Everybody knew that it was wrong I think everybody is spoken up in defense of Chris Rock. Now that time has passed I think it's time to look at it from Will's side, because it was so out of character for him! As Jazzy says, he is only human. You know, let's show some Grace and turn this into a teaching moment. Will is the one everybody is still talking about. He turned the country's dark side into the light if millions of people in the world. This smack has nothing on a POTUS who incited an insurrection allegedly to be fair to his Orange narcissistic self.I say actors and performers should not be treated differently. They should be respected because its not easy to do what we do.But not everyone deserves to be put on a pedestal. Crash Celebrity Culture.

@@garfieldharrison510 Yes, I agree there's a black and white thing to the Oscars; majority white people are members and a few blacks and other minorities are included. Only recently, minority filmmakers are being recognized and likely Smith's slap on Rock drew some racism about blacks at the Oscars. Unfortunately, that's the state of America. Still, I think Smith needs professional mental health. More to the point, Smith needs to find a better woman for a wife, one who doesn't sleep around and then tell the whole world about it...though maybe Smith slept around on her, I don't know.

Don't get me wrong, I lovvvvvve me some Jeff, and I love how he's a rider for Will. However, this conversation didn't go far enough for me. Yes in HIS mind he felt as though he was protecting said woman, and that's cool in a normal setting for us regular folks. However, you've got people of the world watching you accost a man LIVE onstage. Everyone speaks about how Will was feeling, but hardly anyone speaks about Chris and his emotions after the fact. How can we be out here preaching to our black men about less fighting and gunplay when we can't take a page out of our own books on conflict resolution? I just think this whole conversation is so contradictory. Say what you may, and feel what you might, but I guarantee Will would not have hit any man of another race because he's waaaaaaay too conscience of how people see and view him. Thus the reason why he's been able to maintain such a polished career.

Chris is the real bully here. Why should we care about Chris's emotions. He started all of this and has bullied and humiliated Will and his family for years going back to 2011. It's well documented. Hollywood knows the truth. Chris talking bad about Will like on Dave Letterman's show when he chided Will and his kids for getting too many gigs. Chris is jealous of Will and can't stand that he has so much respect and success. What better way to spoil Will's success than to embarrass his wife and see what Will would do. 2016 Oscars he embarrassed Jada, after she boycotted with other people. Chris singled her out, not the other people. Then again in 2022 about her shaved head. Chris baited Will. Unfortunately after years of abuse from Chris, Will lashed out...just tired of it. He asked Chris to stop and he didn't years ago. What more can he do. This isn't about race, it's about the human experience. Chris never wants to talk when he's caught doing something he should not have. Chris knows that the public won't do the homework to see who's really at fault here though and Will being as nice as he is will take the fall. People need to step back and look beyond what's seen. There are reasons people react they way they do. He would have no reason to hit any man of any race who wasn't disrespecting his family... period.

When you do something fucked up, at what point do you take full and total accountability and say I fucked up. If you need counselling, go get it, if you need help in some format go get it, but don't have an energy towards those people that condemn your bad behaviour or actions. I still admire Will Smith for everything he has achieved and become, but to climb from underneath the current rock he is under, he needs to address the public smacking of another grown man on a public stage. The correlation between the release of Will's autobiography and the slap is so important. The pro wrestler Jon Moxley - who always portrays a tough violent guy - released his autobiography and shortly thereafter (maybe a week or two later) he kicked a guard rail into a fan and went into rehab. Releasing an autobiography and knowing that anyone who reads that book knows things you've kept secret for so long can be jarring.

@@hs4a085 no hes not missing the point, Will is a rational human and he took the risk/reward of hitting someone like Chris which is low risk... someone as hot headed as mike (as seen by what he did to that plane passenger) doesnt play about violence and he would have taken wills head off, the fucking world knows that and Jeff is just saving face for a close friend.

@@Rixicc the point is, it dont matter who disrespected his wife, he’ll slap anyone! OBVIOUSLY he get his ass whooped by Mike. But the point is will will do whatever it takes to defend his woman!! Even if it kills him. Chris so happen to be that guy at the moment
