The way that this is edited is extremely aesthetically pleasing, it's cut really well to show the slight differences/similarities from the original track and the background info given from DJ Premier brings it all together - amazing job guys!

Yeah but that woupd be a very limited class. I know preemo. He would go through the records he sampled to give you the historical content and context. But technique he wont teach...why...because this is HIPHOP culture..and the culture forces you to find your rhythem and form your own style in order to contribute in keeping the culture and the 5 elements alive which is 1. Knowledge/Education 2. Breaking 3. Emceeing 4. Deejaying 5. Grafitti

If not mistaken, I think he grew up more in NY, than Houston. Think he was born in Houston, and lived there as a small child, but for the most part, most of his time was spent in NY. Stand corrected, if I'm wrong. I think his grandpops lived in NY.

He obviously doesn't have the cachet of a DJ Premier or a RZA, etc, but he's been delivering heat since his Mobb Deep and Dilated Peoples days. I guess it's really just semantics in the end, but his catalog is legendary to me.

So many classic, iconic beats from him. Hands down one of my all-time fave producers. I grew up in the late 80's and 90's, but I was actually a classical musician, and played professionally as an adult, but I still loved hip hop as kid and was always drawn to Premier because his tracks were so expressive, evocative, and cinematic, not unlike many wonderful classical pieces, and like many great classical pieces they stand the test of time. "Kick in the Door," "Mass Appeal," and the first couple of minutes of "A Million And One Questions" are some of my favorite beats period, and they still knock to this day.
