I was thinking the same thing. A lot of these tiny desk concerts the artist are timid and don’t know how to act in front such a small crowd and Preemo just goes all in. He’s very professional.
@BeesKneezs

@@charlieott7469 He has that big bodied old school hip hop attitude of trying to be the biggest person in the room on the mic, being able to control the crowd (no matter how large or small) and get them snapping their fingers or singing along cause your contagious energy reaches them.

all the early djs knew about jazz and used multiple jazz, funk, r&b, even rock samples in their tracks. good djs nowadays have a lot of musical knowledge as well. diggin in the crates is basically what every good dj does, now some only do it virtually but a true music fan, will listen to all kinds of genres.

Yo! Biggest respect to Mr. DJ Premier, who made my childhood in the suburbs of Prague city in the Czech Republic. Man, we were copying your tracks literally tape to tape, being fascinating about anything happened "out there". Seeing this in 35 years makes me feel happy that good old school is still among us!

Beig Khat thats bcause dj's of today arent really dj's in the old school hiphop sense of the word. Believe it or not back inna day the dj was the main feature & the emcee was 2nd! Lol example: Eric B & Rakim...the dj's name is first. Peace.

Its been happening for decades, the earliest hiphop was all about the DJ keeping the beats for the rapper and then producers like Mantronix took it to another level similar to what Premier is doing here, utilising technology with turntablism back in the mid 80s, you then had Jazzy Jeff and Cash Money creating a whole performance behind the decks and Jeff even had his own band behind him in the early 2ks very similar to this but not quite on this level as the band werent as well integrated.
