I dig all of Quik's grooves...but this is the one that sends me into some of my deepest modes of thought and meditation. As someone that was in band from almost 5th grade, I can tell Quik has a deeprooted appreciation for live instruments much the same way as I do. This type of style set Quik apart from the rest of those in Music Production. The guys very very very underappreciated in the game.

What I mean is that he seems to have an advance knowledge in sound design and also the enginering aspect of music production. He not only creates a dope beat but he also creates a sonic evironment to where the vocals and instruments occupy the correct space within the record so that it can sound clear but grimmy or soulful if he wants it to. But this is just my oppinion of his work. You should check out SCRATCH magazine's article on him, it can most likely explain the point I am trying to make.

Quik is the only one who gives respect. As soon as RRoger died, Cher came out with that "believe in love" shit and it made me want to cry that the man's legacy was being tarnished already and biters were in the midst...waiting. No one else even does it right. By the way, quik is hiphop's best producer. The way he layers his beats is comparable 2 none other than Organized noise. Dre, Preem, depend on samples 4 the majority of their work. Try 2 count the instruments this brother uses in one song.

yea i got u now! Quik is one of the few who's perfection in his music comes within the mixing parts of it, and that wat seperates him from other producers is that he could "show off wit his production abilites" in his albums (for example lik all the Quik's Grooves hes got over the years) And especially when it comes to the newer sound he perfects that easily (wit new technology etc.) did u check out BlaQKout w/Kurupt? DAMN he did that lik in 4-5 months only...
