SY came to a free Party We put on in Wales in late 90s ( when we were party providing every wknd!! :) ) - We led Him into middle of nowhere, followed for miles by the Police , then out into the stix... Got Him out His mud splattered Black BMer, & loaded Him and Sarah (his Lass at the time) and his boxes of vinyl into our manky jeep...! - The only way to get him up the mountain track to where Our Marquee was set up, with at least 600 or so Free Party Crew havin it large already...! We knew each other pretty well from regular club Gigs together Me&SY, but at one point when I was opening the second gated farm track road for Him in his tidy london town tidy motor, He did ask Me smiling nervously, " Mate! Where the F**k are You taking Us...!?! " - But He played a Blinding 93-97 style Oldskool stylee Hardcore set in Our rammed 60metre old Marquee, full of lazers and lights and strobes and Pink Callys...! etc etc...! And He Loved every minute of it ...! What a Gent, and what a positive Dude, and what a Champion for making it all that way off beaten track for Us lot...! He is anti drugs too, and yet brings the vibe like He just gets it naturally! And yet totally open minded and sound... Despite My sweaty wide eyed state, ( from all the excitement of course ; ) !! ) He gave Me a massive hug after We drove him back down in jeep to His car ( still in 1 piece too, thank the Gods...!) - And said it was the best night He had in ages bless Him! - He even said so in a Mixmag interview later that year true to His word ! - He was asked wot was His best night that Year so far... Answer - "A mad Welsh Rave up a Mountain!"...) Can You imagine how excited We were when news of that went round the grapevine...! - All rushing to buy every copy in the shop...! We made the Papers too...! - For slightly different reasons, but still with positive vibes from reporters saying how We tidied up immaculately after Ourselves, showed some local Young Farmers barn dances can be bit wilder, and generally just pulled it off with no traffic probs, no fights, no dramas at all - Just lotsa nice people having fun...!! While the Piss heads in town were fighting and being abusive to Authorities, and Bar Staff, and Women trying to have a hassle free night out ... The Ravers up the Hill Blew their minds with the lights and sounds and warm loving and caring attitudes...!!! Unity And Freedom And Acceptance innit ! " In Complete Darkness We are All the same..." What a Tuuuuuuuuune !! Says it All : ) Here's tothe 90's .... Wow ! I thought life was gonna be that way for ever!! What A Smashin time to be out Ravin !! Free Party Massiv - Nuff Respekt ! Sy - You A Champion! And so were All that lot - Hixxy, UFO, Scott B - Legend ! Slipmatt, Lime, LIpmaster Mark & Ratpack Crew, Vibes n Livelee well up 4 it !, Storm, Whizzkid, Sharkey, Micky Finn, Shy FX, Seduction - Impact Records... Bangin choonz....! The list goes on and on and still growing now...! Crusty Ravescene turned new international Pop Scene....! Dubstep Genre grew faster than the Beatles...!!!! Anyways, better shut up....! Who gonna read all this !!?! - God Speed one & All chuckle chuckle ...!! : )
