At Innercity, Tiësto experiences one of the key moments of his career. He's more or less coincidentally on the line-up. 'I used to play at bigger parties, but always in a back room at something like Megarave. Innercity was the first big party of that time without hardcore. I was at my distributor signing CDs for Norway, where I was already quite well known. Duncan [Stutterheim, ed.] came in with Dick de Groot, the A&R manager of ID&T, and said: “Who is that guy signing? Tiësto? Never heard of it before!”' De Groot then updated him: “It's really big in Scandinavia and sells a lot of CDs there!” Duncan then said to me: “Hey, do you want to open at Innercity?
