I've never thought of watching TGTB and TU as a commitment, I love that film so much I don't notice the time pass by. Now, Django which I first saw on VHS from the local video hire shop back in 1980 after an afternoon session down the local pub just knocked my socks off. at 21 I instantly fell in love with Loredana Nusciak, and Franco Nero added another Western hero in Django to join The Man With No Name, and Trinity etc. Django, one of my top 10 favourite westerns.

I love TGTB&TU, but it is 3 hours long :) Django would probably also make my top 10, and it's still not my favorite Corbuci western -- that's The Great Silence.

This is the first western I saw in my childhood. I still love this movie

That's a good one to start with. I think the first one I saw was Red River. My uncle was a big Wayne fan and watched them whenever they came on TV. I also remember watching Treasure of the Sierra Madre when I was really young, so maybe that was the first.

I was 7 or 8 years old. So this movie really made an impression on me.

Ahh yes, I just rewatched this recently and it still stands up. I love spaghetti westerns and for whatever reason, the dubbing isn’t as bothersome to me as it is with their giallo and horror movies. It’s almost too distracting in some of those fulci movies. I once heard Burt Reynolds’s called carbucci the “wrong Sergio”, always thought that was funny. Another cool vid man, thanks
@XploitationRR6 ай бұрын
I think the "wrong Sergio" story comes from Navajo Joe. Reynolds agreed to do it because he thought it was a Leone picture. It wasn't of course. It was from the wrong Sergio :)

Django and the copy, Sartana was my saturday morning routine back in Argentina. There are like 10 movies with them, they really milked the cow 😂😂

There were way more than 10 Django movies :) They stuck that name on so many movies. Kinda silly.

I really need to check out Django. I am a fan of spaghetti westerns and Franco Nero, so this should be a no brainer. Not sure why I haven't ever seen it, as I have been aware of it.
@XploitationRR2 жыл бұрын
Definitely a no-brainer :) Django is probably a top 5 spaghetti western.

Great action story and Nero

Nero is very cool. I wish my copy of this was in Italian though because his dubbed voice is meh.

I would highly recommend watching this one in Italian. I watch most Italian films dubbed into English, but this one is much better in the Italian dub with subtitles.
@XploitationRR Жыл бұрын
Yeah, the English dub on this one is trash :)

Also the English dub on this movie is terrible lol. It makes the movie so bad

I may be in a minority but I prefer Franco Nero to Clint Eastwood. Love your channel.
@XploitationRR Жыл бұрын
Nero is great. I still gotta go with Clint though since he's the star in my two favorite westerns, The Unforgiven and The Good the Bad and the Ugly.

@@XploitationRR, I wouldn't say Django is the best western but it is the one I've watched the most. I also love Compañeros. Hope to see more Spaghetti Western on your channel in the future.

@@mar85cos I'll definitely do more. Been thinking about The Great Silence a lot. Might do that one soon.

The Great Silence is a great Sergio Corbucci western and his most Nihilistic one where the bad guys win.Plus Klaus Kinskis performance as the bounty hunter.

*American westerns were so boring they looked like cartoons compared to the Italian ones.*
@XploitationRR Жыл бұрын
That's certainly not true. There are plenty of fantastic American westerns that aren't the least bit cartoony or boring -- Treasure of the Sierre Madre, The Searchers, True Grit, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, High Noon, etc. etc. etc.
