The Big Dan Show

Күн бұрын

Another Beautiful sunny day along the Gulf Coast at Navy Point Boat Ramp in Pensacola Florida, this boat ramp is known for its quick and easy access to the water at No Cost. The only kicker, when Big Dan is here on the camera, your pride may be at stake. #BoatRamp Chaos is bound to strike at some point, Today it was calm, relaxing, and a little different. Grab a Drink, Snack, and a Seat and Enjoy the show.

Absolutly nothing wrong with walking your boat on to your trailer and using your winch. Nothing damaged.
@devinshepard9832
@devinshepard9832 7 ай бұрын
For sure. I’ve been in a dead battery situation before and had to make it happen. Long as you can get the trailer at proper depth and get boat started on the trailer so the winch can grab it’s not significantly more difficult

Thats how I always did it before I sold my boat. Most of the ramps I used were DNR ramps and did not allow power loading as it tears the areas around the ramps up.

Exactly. Also, the boat launch is not damaged. I drive onto my trailer and when the boat stops. I turn the motor off, get out and winch it on the rest of the way. Saves the boat launch, stress on the boat trailer and I get a little exercise in the process.

In my 47 years of boating, I have seen it all. 3 I have not forgotten, a new ranger bass boat two year old truck went in the Ohio river, a new 24 ft. To fix an uneven boat on a trailer is simple ! Pull up, put the rear straps on the boat and give them slack. Back into the water until you see the boat move and 99.9% of the time it will full it to place once you pull forward again. The best way is to power load, but to many boat owners aren't experienced enough to know that or do it. A half or three fourths wheel well in the water usually is enough on the trailer to power load or even to get the boat in line to be winched on !

Thanks for the interesting videos. I see on video in this and other forums and I hear comment of many folks on here regarding power loading. Most of the boat launch locations in NY state specifically prohibit power loading. Too much damage occurs to boat ramp foundation structure from constant power loading. At monitored locations, power loading against regulations can see you banned from further use of the facilities.

I just came across your channel today. I’m astounded at the number of boaters who really don’t know how to load their boats. I’m wondering if it’s a southern thing. We would never see this in northern IL or WI. Maybe 1 or at max 2 people per day who don’t know proper boat etiquette or how to load their boats. This is the craziest stuff I’ve ever seen…and I’ve been driving power boats for 50 years. Great channel!! Very entertaining 🎉

power loading damages many ramps by scouring gravel at the end of the concrete creating a step that frequently catches trailer axles and by creating a shallow gravel hump that can damage props during launch or retrieve. PL also tears up bunks on trailers of careless operators during loading. Some private facilities prohibit PL.
