20:40 When security make demands about not filming or not flying their drone, they open up the company to a potential civil suit. I know DJ won't do anything, but who's to say that someone else does exactly the same thing and raises a civil case against the company for their actions. It would be an easy way for someone to make a few quid, all for writing a letter before claim. That's why security need to educate themselves when they see auditing videos and not to continue with parroting what they've been told to say.

It is actually called "Vicarious Liability" and is based on something called the Master Servant relationship in which iof the master gives an order to the servant which is unlawful and the servant undertakes the unlawful activity the master is liable because he gave the order.
@pup67282 жыл бұрын
Serious question, but what grounds would you have for a civil case though if a company says you can’t fly a drone over their site? They might be wrong, but being wrong isn’t illegal. They aren’t impinging on your human rights in any way, and even if they were, that legislation doesn’t apply to them. The bigger issue which everyone omits is that auditors aren’t just flying a drone over private premises, they are flying a camera over a site. Even the CAA warn about the complexities of cameras over private land, plus other legislation/regulations) which may apply and are outside the CAA remit.

The reason security get a bit tetchy is because the actions can be considered as hostile reconnaissance. Also alot of security guards are being monitored and instructed by a supervisor and CCTV operator in a control room. Guaranteed alot of the guards in these videos need to learn how to handle situations alot better than they do but at the end of they day they are just trying to do a job and keep their clients property safe and secure.

@@andycapp5581 if you going to make a statement at least back it up with logic... Or is that beyond your capacity... Hostile reconnaissance can take place on any premise. A car plant would be watching out for recon being carried out by eco groups. A supermarket would be on the look out for animal welfare groups. Offices in built up areas would be looking looking out for any reconnaissance being carried out. So yes hostile reconnaissance is a thing and it is something all security teams are trained to look out for...
