Chaos King (Drum and Bass) ~ DELTARUNE Remix

there a lot of secrets and references in this video! you could consider this post SPOILERS if you're a fan of dj cutman animated music video game remix videos™ . . . Visualizer ~ This particular viz made its first appearance in my Friendship video, then again in Lancer's Theme, but it's based off the design developed for Zelda & Chill. This version includes larger animation for bass, and a more compressed mid-range. It's more intense and chaotic than the viz design for Zelda & Chill, I tried to make it more extreme with big bass. I used a dark shadow around the visualizer to make it pop off the background. King's Attack Pattern ~ Chaos King's spade attack pattern based on Lancer's from Lancer's Theme (GameChops). This animation goes way back, originally developed for RobKTA"s Death by Glamour in 2016. I recovered the composition from a backup and expand on the animation. Background ~ First did this style Checker Dance, which is a simple animation made in OBS using the Scroll filter. for Chaos King, i included a layer that's flipped and a bit darker, so it more closely matches the background in Deltarune. I also refined the Adjustment Layer that provides the "booming" animation, an a array of blurs that are controlled by the song! super cool. I've been using this layer a lot lately, but I feel like it's the tightest its been in this video. Chaos King Sprite ~ I had the idea of using the Chaos King face sprite as the centerpiece for the animation because I'm just too creeped out by the character's body. seriously, that mouth in his stomach with the ... thing.... too scary my gosh. I made a GIF of a custom cycle of Chaos King's head and used After Effects' Wiggle commands to give him his scary floating movement. I originally used this style for The World Revolving, with a drawing of the Jevil character. The Jevil video had a lot of warping and wiggling, but for Chaos King I wanted the sprite more strong and heavy feeling. Lancer 1:21 ~ you may notice that bad guy Lancer's cameo! Both animations are GIFs I made from the Sprite sheet I found on Spriter's Resource (you can get them ~ giphy.com/channel/videogamedj ) I used a black solid layer over all that glorious animation, to give Lancer a black slate. Sometimes I like cutting to black in a big video, gives our eyes a moment to rest. Trap Breakdown 1:30 ~ This part started as just a temporary beat, but after developing the drum and bass track to be more "Sinister", i thought cutting to trap for 6 beats might be the most sinister thing of all! Plus it gave a nice narrative beat for Lancer's cameo. Stereo FX ~ I think this track is worth listening to in headphones or on a good sound system. In particular, I automate the "width" of the track, so it expands and condenses throughout the song. I kept doing big sweeping hand gestures when working on the music, and I wanted to somehow include that in the song. The largest expanse comes at 1:09, and I've included a visual flash to mark it.
