Umarex HDB Less Lethal How to: Quick Restrictor removal & East Coast Less Lethal Detents

When you want to remove the valve restrictor, before putting cutting pliers inside the chamber as you might have the misfortune of damaging something, first do this by slightly screwing a screw 🔩 to the restrictor because it is metal and then just pull the screw out with pliers and it will come out clinging to the restrictor

Exactly what I was thinking. It looks like he butchered up the threading when trying to gouge out the restrictor.

Those are called circlip pliers removing circle clips often found on shaft in the end of a shaft to hold in bearing . Great video DK

Depends on the version. With the 7.5 you take The restrictor out of the valve at the back then you're going to insert a restrictor into the pistol grip area if you're using CO2 If you're using air you do not insert the little restrictor disk into the pistol grip handle

You can use the pin from home defense 24 that comes with the little disc but really all you need is the disc to go in the pistol grip part and I believe they sell it separate now and you don't even have to buy the pin. So the pin doesn't matter The disc does if you're using CO2 so if you're using high pressure air you don't have to buy the pin or the disc either way just remove the restrictor out of the back. Now if you've got one of the stronger versions from the factory to start with then it's different and I'm not going to speak on that because those aren't the versions I've missed with

I just got a HDS68 16 joule that functions well..shooting 3.7gn @345 FPS, but the trigger pull is really hard 12-18 lbs. Any ideas? I just bought a new HDB, hope the trigger is better on it. I will be powering it up to 30+ joules.Thanks for your help. Chas

Sorry second comment. The safety on the HDb is terrible I turned the safety off put a very small dab of super glue on the flush side never had another problem with trigger stick.

Like I said in the video, it was sloppy. It has been a long time since I did one of these, forgot that the restrictor is harder to get out than most of the other stuff, lol. I'm a VKS/FSC/TCP/TCR/Patrol Carbine guy first and foremost, I only have done 3 of these, ever, counting this one. The point was testing it with the new detents and factory pin, not to be instructional or smooth. I'm lucky I didn't butcher the threads for sure

FPS is still low with restrictor removed i was getting 350 fps on the double barrel one when i removed that restrictor

With the same weight ammo? Huge difference in FPS with lighter ammo even at the same power

@@YoMomma-j1l Only a novice would talk about feet per second without weight of ammo. People who know what they're doing in this rate their power in joules. That way it doesn't matter if you're using a 3 g ball or a 9 g ball you know how much actual power your launcher is putting out. 450 fps with a 2.9g Byrna Kinetic is 27 joules. 300 FPS with the 9.9g ammo I use is 41 joules. Let that sink in
