Right now is the first time I ever saw this SNL clip. Back in 2000, my late older brother, Charlie, was playing guitar with his band at some club in New England, when Keith Richards showed up and got on stage with him. Way back in the day, I used to sing with my brother's band; one of the tunes was-'Under My Thumb'. My brother Charlie and I saw The Stones perform live back in 1966. Their opening number was-'Under My Thumb'.
@thack573 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's so awesome that you saw the '66 Stones tour which was their last tour until '69 and the unfortunate events of the last show. They were dumbstruck when they saw the U.S. audiences of '69 because it was the first time that the band played for audiences that were sitting down and actually came to LISTEN to music instead of coming just to scream like f****ng banshees, piss themselves, then pass out or they'd come to fight. I loved when they opened with 'Under My Thumb' but I really dug when they opened with 'Live With Me'. Nice memories brother.

@@oatnoid : My earliest childhood friend worked for The Stones on a few of their tours. His name is John, just like yours. My late brother Charlie met Keith Richards on an island in Caribbean back in 1992. He was just sitting there, playing his guitar, when Keith Richards walked up. They found out they lived near each other, so they exchanged phone numbers. He never expected to hear from him, but, lo and behold, when he got home, he got a call from him: "Come over and bring your guitar with you." My brother Charlie was also a pretty fair drummer, too. @@thack57 : Yep, my brother Charlie and I saw them in '66 (Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, NYC), and Charlie saw them again in '69 (Madison Square Garden, NYC; the 'Get Your Ya-Yas Out' show). The following year, 1970, my brother Charlie played Madison Square Garden himself as guitarist for The Buddy Miles Band (they opened for Ten Years After that night; remember them?). 22 years later, he was on an island in Caribbean, playing his guitar, when Keith Richards walked up to him. They found out they lived near each other, and they exchanged phone numbers; and, lo and behold, when he got home, he got a call from him: "Come on over, and bring your guitar". He was on promoting an album so he had to do it but that was terrible. The concept was funny but they actual skit was bad. Bring back Mad TV. MadTV and 2nd City Television were both much funnier than SNL. However, SNL had the power of NBC/GE/RCA/Universal/Comcast/The White House/ and the dozens of Democratic Congressmen + Senators that NBC owns. Mad TV was only on FOX - which was still a new channel and 2nd City was syndicated out of Canada. SNL never learned how to END A SKIT. Still the worst endings.

Mick Jaeger doesn't even have to do anything for the crowds to cheer. What are they, 85 years old and STILL rockin'. YEAH!!

i think frank did a pretty bloody good mick, and choosing start me up, well played, i dig how he sings a line then does a face / pulls a move, that exactly what micks does so well, 'i'll take ya places that ya never never been' whoo, its only rock n roll!

The first time I saw the Stones was in 1964 or 65 and have been to countless shows since - over 55 years of fantastic entertainment.

You know, I'm really having a hard time wrapping my head around this! Feel like I entered.... THE TWILIGHT ZONE... (drums rolling) Anytime you're in the area, stop by! Chestnut Hill/Lafayette Hill has several local pubs & you would never be recognized! I would put money on that!!!!😁❤🦉🦋

Have you ever gone somewhere & said: "I'm a 'Mick Jagger' Impersonator", sort of like an 'Elvis Presley' Impersonator? That would be really funny! Hope to see video of it!❤
