@briancatchflightss i was born and raised in NYC; i had a habit of cutting class and going for joy rides all around NYC back in junior HS, and even had a secret way to sneak-in fare-free at an exit-only point at Park Row by Chamber St... yes, the NYC Subways is deeply nostalgic in my heart, but the Subways in China is simply the example of which other up & coming nations follow. Interesting factoid: China's Subways (Beijing) have since the 1960s adopted the 750V third-rail DC power system, similar to the NYC 650V third-rail DC on lines 1, 9, 10, 13...), but also 1,500V third-rail on line 7, and mostly employ the 1,500V overhead catenary on most other lines (30 in all/550miles) the 1,435mm track gauge is also standard also that's more of an international influence. Many world leaders tour Beijing subways and helps them choose what's best for THEIR country. NYC Subways unfortunately is a hard sell... but I understand that it's a much-older system, left to national apathy and neglect through the past century+
