Crazy bow those trains survived for so long. Long live the R32s.
@Pensyfan1917 күн бұрын
If these trains are going to Fortescue Metals in Ashtabula, OH, then there's a >50% chance that these railcars will STILL EXIST! Based on drone footage of the site, most stuff that was sent there years ago has not been scrapped yet, so now's your chance to save several of these railcars!

I was waiting for this video lol... I was the TSS on the second scrap car move. We had the Tribute diesel 892 up front, and the R156 in the back. If you look carefully, I'm the guy standing in the train cab. The RCI was sitting in the jump seat, and the train operator was operating. What a long night lol

Why is there a rider car between the two locomotives ?
@ice31912 күн бұрын
@@lilbluefoxie for weight distribution. We aren't allowed to put two diesels together in most cases because the weight of them could cause damage to the rails, structure, or the bridges if we are going between boroughs. So we either use a rider car or a flat car to keep the weight even.

I was about 7 years old when these cars first came on line. At the time I didn't like them. They were too nice, shiny, and quiet. Over the decades I came to appreciate them. Now here I sit 60 years later sad to see them go. I will miss them. They served New York well for so many decades. I hope a few of them will be in the transit museum, if they are not already there.

I love these trains, they're old yet still shine as if new. And the style itself is so iconic for NY. I'd sooner hop aboard one of these bad boys than the fancy yet slow sets in service today. Oh and the Red Birds, can't forget those either.

Why is there a work car between the Locos?
@DJHTransport17 күн бұрын
For weight distribution reasons, a spacer car must placed in consist between each “old” yellow diesel whenever the train may operate over elevated structures.

@TheRailLeaguer Really ?! Listen I've been through this crap before obviously You have no sentimental value for the R 32 cars. This is a horror show ! I rode these cars since I was a baby. Need them ? Damned right ! Of course & why not for hardcore Railfans as myself ! I just rode the R 1 to R 9 cars Holiday train 2024 I treasure these cars all of them all the way ! Glad they preserved them ! I'm sick of this people around the world have viewed this & seeing these outstanding Budd built subway cars to be towed out like this ? Those were strong built subway cars !Just like Amtrak's AEM 7 & New Jersey Transit's ALP 44 treated like yesterday's garbage. Ask me i'm part of the public. I'm sorry you feel that way but I care to differ on so many R 32 cars being removed from the TA Property due to the new trains of R 211 cars Not a good image for the MTA on it's past The 1960's into 2020 amazing history They're now the Museum cars more should be there to Don't need them indeed give me a break !
