So for me, especially since I have no travel plans for the next few months, I'm waiting to see the Ace Pro 2. I honestly haven't been blown away by the Action 5 footage. It almost seems like they are overexposing and cranking the ISO compared to the Action 4 to make it look brighter in low light scenes to give the impression that the camera is able to handle low light better, but I'm seeing more noise in a lot of the comparisons. It does look better overall, but not enough for me to not wait on the Ace Pro 2. I also just realized my A6700 and the 11mm F/1.8 are both weather sealed so I should be able to take that out in light rain. I'd recommend the A6700 as a bridge for anyone using the ZV-E10 before going full frame because there's a bit of a learning curve with S-Log3, tracking modes, new menu system, etc. Plus, no need to also buy FF lenses.

Hey Tim my man! Yeah, I can see why you would want to wait for the Ace Pro 2. I'm looking forward to putting the Action 5 through its paces and see how she handles the different scenarios. Yeah, the 6700 is weatherproof, I remember hearing about that! That's a good point about the 6700 being a bridge. How do you enjoy the new menu system? Definitely was needed with the old system I'm still using 😂.

@@TravelingAhn The new Sony menu system is much better, but it does take some getting used to. It's just one of those things that I think is going to take a while before you can get the most out of it. The A6700 has just enough custom buttons to help me with my S-Log3 workflow. I couldn't get the Leeming Luts to look good so I switched over to the Phantom Lut after watching Noi's color grading video. However, I do like using zebras initially to get a baseline for exposure before eyeballing it with the Lut in camera.

The Action 5 now offers active track also in 2.7 K, which is pretty cool for vlogs or if you want to step back and move around a little bit it will keep you in the frame.

Great review! I’m looking for a small camera to film in lower light and mixed light like malls, shops, and evening walks. Do you think the action 5 would be a good choice for walking tours in evening light or in artificial light? I already have the pocket 3 which I love but I’m looking for a second cam. The footage in the subway/underground looks amazing. Did you color grade all that? Also please make more videos with this camera! Great job on the video btw glad to have found your channel! I did not know that doubling shutter speed from frame rate is the way to get rid of jitters. Thanks for that tip!!!!

Hello, thank you for your thoughtful feedback. The micro-jitters is most effective if you quadruple the frame rate actually. I'll be doing more comparisons, so hope those future video's will help!

Yeah 30 frames you would go 120 shutter speed, I usually just do auto ISO 100 to 3200. Yeah GoPro looks good during the daylight but in the evening it's horrible

Hey there! I'm thinking of getting either the OP3 or the Action 5 (Decided to restart vlogging) - Can you give me insights on the Mic2. Say you are wearing the mic and you are recording a video with your wife next to you chatting along, can you actually hear her voice clear enough or do I need to get 2 x mic 2's like your Christmas in Seoul video? she doesn't want to wear one so hoping one is enough!

So there is a work around to your request. Both the pocket 3 and the action 5 have the option to save the built-in mic recordings as a backup. So when you go to edit your video you can the built-in audio in post. You're not really going to be able to hear the other person well utilizing just to DJI Mic. Hope this helps!

I'm noticing a little bit of jittering when you were walking around in the rain with the Action 5. Did you have image stabilization on when filming with it?

Nice catch on that! I had changed my settings when I went back outside. I should have kept it at quadruple the shutter speed from the frame rate. I was shooting 60 FPS using auto ISO and that was the issue with the jello effect. It would have turned out much better if I had set it to 1/240 on the shutter.

You're correct. GoPro dropped the ball for two years in a row. No real meaningful improvements at all. Same sensor, same processor.

There is a bit of a bitgaterate going on , I understand that it has better battery and can connect to 2 microphones , but the improved night footage is not something I need as I don’t do action sports at night and to me the footage during the day is better on the 4 then the 5 , and a lot of people are not happy about it and want to return their 5’s ! I look forward to see what you find comparing the two action cams ! I love dj , I have many products from them , this is the first time I’ve felt let down
