Fun video! I just took the PLUNGE. I bought the Avata “fly more” pack with ONE battery, the goggles 3 and motion controller. Just before that I had bought the Mini 4 Pro with the RC2 Controller and three batteries. All plus plenty of hand picked accessories that I thought made sense (microSD cards and other things). So now…I have my hands full. I think I will more than likely find separate use cases for each of the two drones. So far I have only flown the M4P and RC2, with really beautiful results at a local park…I will continue researching it to understand its capabilities and settings, but I think I’m well on my way with both at the moment. Next up, get my FAA license (I’m in the US), learn more about the Avata 2 and the goggles and motion controller, and get on the path towards first flight there. I plan on trying the goggles with both drones, and the motion controller also. It’s a fun adventure. We will see where it takes me!
@LowryDroneography-Steve7 ай бұрын
Sounds like you have what you need! Good plan. I think you’ll enjoy them both a lot from now on. The M4P is a very important drone too, in my opinion. Have fun! 🙏🏼😊

The dual stick controller is basically mandatory if you ever want to get anywhere near the full potential of the drone. Even if you never fly a day of manual mode, the FPV3 controller is far more capable in N/S modes. I'm sure I'll find ways to have fun with the motion RC though.
@LowryDroneography-Steve7 ай бұрын
Yeah, the RC really does unlock the full potential, but then it also comes down to the consumer.. as some people might be more than content swooping around with the motion controller without any feeling of not getting their money’s worth. I think it depends on their interest in acro and whether the person has had a taste of it before. Once you’ve had a taste, its pretty hard to not be converted if you’re already into FPV.
@TheSakufighter4 ай бұрын
Yup. Just bought the FPV potato and am having tons of fun with it since I wanted more speed but don’t have the courage to move to manual mode yet. Been having fun practicing on the N/S modes and simulator. The motion controller works just fine for cinewhoop.

@@TheSakufighter Nice! Glad you’re enjoying it, lots of fun and good to hear it. Lots of power.. still got mine, just need to shift it as I have too many and sometimes I fly the Avata 2 like a freestyle drone anyway, so I need to be sensible!

@@LandOverview Hope you get chance to soon! In terms of yaw spin issue, I’ve not had it drop. Very nice work! I enjoyed the video and watching your flight through the trees. I have the original Avata with the motion controller, and have flown missions through a few real estate properties with it. The results are awesome! I believe you when you say that it is better to get used to using the sticks to control the aircraft (others have said that too), but so far I'm using the motion controller, I can do everything I want to do, and it is very intuitive, so I'll stick with it for now.
@LowryDroneography-Steve6 ай бұрын
Cheers! Appreciated 🙏🏼 yeah it’s all about what works for you and what you want it for. I like your speed control, for some reason I am unable to control the drone while flying in manual at low altitudes also I struggle a lot slowing down the drone once I gave extra throttle to it. Have you got any suggestions on how to better control the speed?
@LowryDroneography-Steve3 ай бұрын
@@Dom-FPV Hey Dom, thank you! Its purely down to practice. I was exactly the same, it clicked at some point, you just have to keep going at it and getting a bit more risky but within your own comfortability, if that makes sense. When I switched to pinching the sticks sometime last year, it made the world of difference to throttle control and I gradually got much better than I was at flying low and close to stuff.
@Dom-FPV3 ай бұрын
@@LowryDroneography-Steve thank you, would you raccomande higher rates or lower rates to practice speed control?
@LowryDroneography-Steve3 ай бұрын
@@Dom-FPV No worries. If you want to fly cinematic style low down then the standard rates work well for me but could be better if you reduced them a little maybe? It depends. If you want to throw the occasional quick roll or flip in then maybe increase the rates a bit. Admittedly, with this drone I’ve not tweaked them yet like I did with the first Avata. I’ve just learnt to control it based on how it’s set up.
@Dom-FPV3 ай бұрын
@@LowryDroneography-Steve Thank you - I will probably set them back to the standard and see how it feels, tbh since I started practicing manual I have only experimented and messed around with the rates, today I increased them and the drone was unmanageable

@GorillamansGarage Luckily for these drones, even if you’re flying in manual/acro mode like this, they will automatically revert to a GPS/Mavic like stance when they lose signal. You can have it set to RTH, but I wouldn’t do that in the woods. 😅 A regular DIY FPV drone won’t react like this. You can fit a GPS and have RTH on them, but it’s not exactly reliable in comparison.

Ey up Just subscribed….. Amazing natural style in your videos…. Very impressed with this channel….. So i have a question for you…. I have owned a few drones and have always lost faith in them due to the ever changing laws and regulations…. I recently owned and really enjoyed the Avata …. But again lost confidence in where i could actually fly the thing….. With the release of the Avata 2 and the new goggles i am so tempted to purchase…. In a nutshell shell where in the uk can I fly the Avata 2 ?……
@LowryDroneography-Steve5 ай бұрын
Thank you Robert! Much appreciated 🙂 It’ll be pretty much the same deal as with the Avata1, as there’s only about 30g difference in weight. If you do the A2 CofC, with the drone being under 500g, it brings some similarities to the rules of flying a sub 250g, but also not fully. I know, it’s a pain in the ass if you just want to fly for fun and not work. If you live within an acceptable distance of any kind of space or scenic spots, I’d say it’s worth it. If you have the A2, then it’s even more worth it. It has a C1 label on it also. Whilst this is currently useless in the UK, if we adopt the EASA C Labels then I think it will literally mean you can fly it like a sub 250g with A2.

Totally different type of experience when it comes to flying drones, but I get it. Its definitely much quieter than the first.. my video probably doesn’t do too much justice because literally everything - the background noise along with main audio is amplified a lot, as I was recording in camera until very recently getting the mic2 kit and having to do a lot of post processing previously. 😅 I might do a video to show the noise compared to other drones, but there’s also a few reliable ones already out there now. 😊

@@matta6301 Firmware can adjust flight characteristics and we already know the physical design is a vast improvement on the first one.. but I’m yet to see the drop happen.
