Awesome video, and a new appreciation to the engineering that was put into this drone. Absolutely awesome.
@dreacul2 жыл бұрын
A very bad one considering the fact that the design of the arms and frame breaks instantly if the drones touches a flower in flight.
@demiserofd Жыл бұрын
Warning to interested people, this drone is VERY fragile. It's made of plastic, not carbon fiber or anything else strong, and in particular, the landing gear and arm mounts on the body are barely there. Mine fell from about 4 feet up and broke both the landing gear AND the arm mount clean off the body. Add to this expensive repair costs, and this is not a drone you want to crash willy-nilly unless you are willing to fully disassemble it like he does here and rebuild it from the ground up, whenever you have a crash.

Where there is a hot glue on hex screw? Is it normal did dji put it there?

I need that top metal piece at the 2:20 mark. Anyone know the name of that part and where to order it? I’ve scoured the DJI site, ebay, and every other drone parts site. This is the only piece of this drone I can’t order!!!

Could you do a DJI FPV controller teardown? I dropped a screw inside the controller and can’t get it out. I can’t figure out how to disassemble the controller.
@ddegn3 жыл бұрын
I replied to another comment but I'll also reply to increase the odds you'll see it. I took my controller apart. It wasn't has hard to do as I feared. There are four screws holding the controller shell together. After removing these screws the controller shell can be pried open. I've uploaded photos to my Hackaday IO page. I use the same user name there as I use on KZbin.

@@jayboddie8718 hi Jay I need to order the main body (housing) I'm newer to this world of jargon; I thought I just broke an arm; I broke the arm and the main body where it connects. I am going to attempt it? I need to step in to this section of Drones and FPV, if I'm going to keep going. I've destroyed several UAV'S this has been my Covid outlet!! It's either I start riding street bikes again or (wife not happy) a substitute for adrenaline. I'll keep you posted, Thank you to everyone that post about this subject...... I really appreciate it.. Real Raheem Jason Bardough. Thank you.

@@markbrown53 you can definitely do it especially if you know how to solder wires and at least you know what the problem is in my case I have to do a tad bit guessing work. And on the bright side there are replacment parts available now. It's definitely possible to self repair DJI is ripping people off with care refresh for sure. Let me know how it comes out hope it works

Can you make a controller teardown? It would be great to see gimball quality and type, if its potentiometer or hall sensor. Thanks 👍

The sticks are Hall sensors. Search my user name at Hackaday(dot)IO. The camera angle control is a potentiometer.

Great job and well laid out. I have a question, though, after a recent crash into a small tree, a 1/2" piece of the limb just gouged the gimbal, locking it in place as it hit the grass...requiring some delicate removal. The gimbal "appears" to still work, but when flying today I noticed some choppiness in the video where the gimbal kind of stuttered and the video jumped. In your estimation is it likely I've damaged the gimbal and should replace it. Reason I ask is the FPV reading I've done says the gimbal should keep the video rock solid & stable in all orientations and speeds ?
@crisnmaryfam7344 Жыл бұрын
Could be damaged it, could be it has crud in the mechanics of it. Ive seen this in other peoples videos where they crashed into dirt or sand and then the gimbals movements acted up. A can of Compressed air (air duster) could be your best friend in these situations.

Hi, I broke the left front arm of the DJI FPV Drone. Apparently, even though just the plastic broke and the LED light inside the arm, DJI is requesting about Euro 189,00 to repair it. Is this normal?
@jimbalo743 жыл бұрын
i get the same issue, left front landing gear only broken, not even the plastic part, but the board inside (LED part) and the cable to attached to the LED control. seems that antena and coax are nice, not sure if need to be repair, but i asked.

You are my hero!! Without you I could not have done this. Unbeleavable that this video does not have 100k+ views. Its the only true good teardown.. Thank you SO SO much. I'am waiting for my spare-parts to arrive (middle main frame, and 4 arms). What do you advise I use to stick back the fan? A little glue? Or if tape, then witch one? Again, I can't thank you enough. I can fix my own dji quad now. Rob from Amsterdam. (I SUBSCRIBED)
@matix3-3 жыл бұрын
Rob were you able to get it working again? I too had to replace 3 arms. I noticed from this video that when he turned it on the props did not move in the front during startup. My are doing this right now and I am getting a esc error. hope you got yours up and flying again
@OneOfTheRobs3 жыл бұрын
Hi Oscar. Mine did fly but no camera-feed. So proberbly broke he camera. Also, when I put my sdcard in the quad it doesn't see it. So proberbly a motherboard fail too. I can only fly it line of site :-( ... I'am saving-up fot a new one now so I can keep thus one fir parts. Almost got it working I guess.. Google luck with yours. If you need any help, just let me know if i can do something 👍
