It is exactly the geopgraphical location mixed with old buildings that make it the least attractive option for me. But few cities are as amazing as Istanbul and so far I've only seen Instanbul.

@@grandturk724 That is correct, since Istanbul (meaning in Greek - Istin Poli = go into town) is a Greek city for thousands of years until it was conquered in 1453AD, just 550 years ago. Greeks are the people of dreams and inspirations that inspires the world through endless of ways, from architectures, culture and civilization, inventions and endless enduring elements alive till this day.

Instanbul is my favorite among all the cities I have visited. For a city with such a rich history, it's surprisingly humble and hospitable. When I walked on the street and through all those ancient corridors in Istanbul I didn't feel like an outsider. Even though I don't speak the language, I can still understand the grating smile on people's faces.

Yes for me as well. I visited Istanbul September of 2012 and it is one of the most fascinating cities I've been to of all the cities I've traveled to. It feels ancient but modern filled with a lot of character. It truly is a unique city.

I have been to Istanbul three times. Beautiful city and friendly people. This is an old city with so much history. If only the stone walls can talk... very nice promotional video.
